I found the letter from Jasper Lapienski on police salaries and expenses very informative. My follow up, are the active employee salaries and expenses solely funded by the city of Greenfield? Retirement pensions basically don’t exist in the private sector any longer but because they may still exist with government employment ( town/city/state/federal ) a salary amount also may impact costs here. Do these salary amounts (or a significant percentage of it ) carry into the retirement pension years? Where does the retirement pension funding come from?
