Faythe Sobieski of the Franklin Tech girls soccer team has been named the Recorder’s Athlete of the Month for October.
Just a sophomore for the Eagles, Sobieski has elite scoring ability beyond her years. The forward had 12 goals and three assists in October. On two occasions, Sobieski lit up the scoreboard with four goals in one contest. In a game against Westfield Tech on Oct. 12, Sobieski netted the winning goal for the Eagles. The goal completed a comeback victory for Franklin Tech.
On Oct. 29, Sobieski scored in the 67th minute to help the Eagles defeat McCann Tech and clinch a spot in the Division 5 state tournament.
