Our “The Three Faces of Eve” (a 1957 film reference), Gov. Maura Healey, is now for building natural gas pipelines.
An Oct. 7 editorial in the Wall Street Journal reads, “Now she’s pleading with the Trump Administration to expedite permits for a pipeline expansion. Add Gov. Healey to the list of Democrats mugged by energy reality.”
While she was attorney general, she boasted about stopping natural gas pipelines into our state. Her actions, along with a net-zero agenda, contributed to electricity rates rising more than 30% in the past few years. The WSJ editorial continues, “Massachusetts has the fourth-highest electricity rates in the country, after Hawaii, California and Maine.”
No worries. Our infamous governor has created a “Heat Resilience Officer” to spend more of our tax money. Liberals enjoy semantics, don’t they? Katie Schlick was appointed. She is an “officer.” Does that mean she can arrest you if you are not heat resilient? Issue a ticket or pay a fine if your children are seen running through lawn sprinklers or if they jump into their swimming pool to escape our humid summertime heat? But I digress.
Healey’s new support for natural gas pipelines makes sense now because she is up for reelection. Mike Minogue has run a spirited campaign to unseat the governor.
Has our state gone too far left? You decide.
