Frances M. Lapinski

Montague, MA – Frances M. (Dodge) Lapinski, 96, of Meadow Road, died Wednesday September 30th, 2026, at RegalCare of Greenfield. She was born in Montague on September 14, 1930, the daughter of Myron and Josephine (McCleary) Dodge.

Frances attended various Montague Schools.

Frances’s work history is varied from working as a housewife raising her 4 children in their early years, being a second mom to many of the other kids that came to her house, to working as a supervisor at Hillside Plastics, followed by being a caretaker and house cleaner to several local families and lastly working in one of the kitchens at UMass.

Frances enjoyed travelling, BINGO, gardening, fishing, bird watching and going out to eat. She loved attending her grandkids’ sporting events and dance recitals. Some of her favorite pastimes were going to the beach, the casino, and traveling cross-country with her beloved niece, travel buddy, best friend and partner in crime, Totty Linscott.

Frances is survived by her daughter Debra Lapinski of Erving; son Jeffery Lapinski and his partner Laura Lacey of Montague, Sandra Ambo and her husband Stan of Wendell; 2 grandchildren Jade Sumner (Chad) of Montague, Trevor Lapinski of Brattleboro, Vt., 3 Great Grandchildren; and her youngest brother, Charles Dodge and his wife Mary of Montague, Ma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Frances was predeceased by her husband Vincent Lapinski and their eldest son Michael and his wife Bernardine, and all but one of her siblings.

Funeral services will be held Friday October 9th starting at 10am for calling hours followed by short service at 11:00 am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls.

Burial will follow at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery in Turners Falls. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family would very much like to thank the RN’s, LPN’s and CNA’s working on the dementia floor at Regal care in Greenfield, her home healthcare aides, Hospice and Lifepath for their care of Frances.
