Erving Fall Festival canceled
ERVING — With inclement weather anticipated this weekend, organizers of the Erving Fall Festival are canceling the event, which was originally slated for Saturday, Sept. 26. Organizers have tentative plans to hold the festival in the spring.
Fall events coming to Gill this weekend
GILL — The seventh annual Gill Fall Festival is returning to the town common outside of Gill Town Hall, 325 Main Road, from noon until 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27, with a square dance to kick off the weekend at Town Hall on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 7 to 9:30 p.m.
For Saturday’s square dance, Lila West is the caller, with the Falltown String Band performing music. This is a free event with all ages welcome to participate.
Then on Sunday, activities on the town common will include farmers and local artisans selling goods, the Gill Fire Department serving food and beverages, along with a door raffle to win a backyard compost bin. Other activities will include tractors for children to check out, hayrides, a petting zoo and a coin search, among other family-friendly activities.
The rain date is Sunday, Oct. 4.
Community fair, potluck moved to The Brick House
TURNERS FALLS — The Montague Community Fair scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, at Unity Park is being moved to The Brick House Community Resource Center annex at 22 Third St. due to rain in the forecast.
The fair will be held from 2 and 5 p.m. and will feature community resources and activities.
The Village Project and the PEER Ambassador Program’s Good Neighbor Day potluck on Sunday, Sept. 27, has also been moved inside The Brick House Community Resource Center due to the anticipated rain. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with guests encouraged to bring their own dishes.
