The discussion surrounding the proposed Great River Regional School District is ultimately about the future of our communities as well as our schools. Reasonable people can disagree about the best path forward. Some see regionalization as an opportunity to address long-term enrollment and financial challenges. Others have concerns about implementation, governance, transportation, and preserving the unique character of their towns.
What matters most is that the conversation remains respectful, informed, and focused on facts. The proposal deserves careful consideration from residents across all six towns.
Reviewing the available information and visiting the 6towns.org website will ensure whatever decision you make will be an informed one before you vote on Oct. 6. Polling hours are from noon to 8 p.m.
Regionalization will provide more learning opportunities for our students and be more sustainable for our towns in the long term. Our research supports this conclusion.
