TURNERS FALLS — Ahead of the Oct. 6, special election for a new Franklin County Technical School building, a public information session will take place at the school, located at 82 Industrial Blvd., on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m.
Sept. 17: Behavioral Health Help Line info session
MONTAGUE — The Brick House Community Resource Center, 24 Third St., will host a representative from the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Help Line on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 10 to 11 a.m.
This help line is a 24/7, year-round phone service for Massachusetts residents who need support for mental health and substance abuse, with agents available to connect people with treatment services, including inpatient and outpatient care. The representative will share information about the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Help Line.

Camp Weekend returns to Lake Pleasant
LAKE PLEASANT — The National Spiritual Alliance is bringing back its Camp Weekend for a second year in a row, with spiritualism workshops, music, food and community-building activities starting Friday, Sept. 18, and continuing through Sunday, Sept. 20.
Camp Weekend serves as a revival of a decades-long tradition in Lake Pleasant for spiritualists to gather and camp for a week in July before people settled to live in the village full-time in 1874.
Alliance member Kara Kharmah explained that this year, there is an emphasis on “food and fellowship,” giving people a chance to take their first steps into spiritualism through workshops while also breaking bread together and connecting with other attendees.
“The idea is that Camp Weekend is a welcoming space for people wherever they are on their journeys,” Kharmah said, noting that people can drop in, enjoy the food and hopefully come away with a good experience.
On Friday, the weekend will begin with a drop-in discussion from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to connect with the alliance community over coffee or tea. More workshops and presentations will take place before a community potluck from 5:30 to 7 p.m. An ambient musical performance by Sam V. Perry and Ethan Lindblom will take place from 7 to 8 p.m.
Saturday will pick up with more workshops starting at 10 a.m., including topics like introductions into mediumship, past life regression and tarot cards, along with musical performances and a potluck toward the end of the evening. Sunday will conclude the weekend of events with a special Autumn Equinox Healing Service, with sound healing by Carolyn Walker starting at 3 p.m.

Artist reception planned at Discovery Center
TURNERS FALLS — Artist Kerry St. Laurent will be at the Great Falls Discovery Center, 2 Avenue A, on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. for an artist reception for her “Stitched Through the Seven Sisters” exhibit, which runs through Sept. 29.
Light refreshments will be served. The reception will take place inside the Great Hall.
Leaf printmaking workshop set for Sunday
TURNERS FALLS — As the season begins to change and leaves begin to show their fall colors, the Great Falls Discovery Center, 2 Avenue A, is hosting a leaf printmaking workshop on Sunday, Sept. 20, from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
This is a free art program intended for ages 6 and older, with all materials provided.
