Susan Carlson Designs holding pop-up shop
GREENFIELD — Susan Carlson Designs will hold a pop-up shop in Baystate Franklin Medical Center’s lobby on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The shop will feature runners, aprons, quilts, placemats and more.
Cash or checks will be accepted. Alternatively, hospital employees can opt to pay through payroll deduction.
Speaking confidence coach coming to library
GREENFIELD — Speaking confidence coach Linda Ugelow will present “How to Love Speaking In Public, Even If You Hate It Now” at the Greenfield Public Library on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 3 p.m.
Technology gives people more opportunities to speak out than ever before. From videos and webinars to podcasts, TV and live presentations, these platforms can amplify a message and brand. But while some people gladly step forward, others shy away from the camera or public speaking, despite having something to say. In this talk, Ugelow will deliver a holistic methodology that gets to the root of what stops people from sharing their voice and the steps they need to take that will help them gain confidence.
Ugelow has been a performer for more than 35 years. She has a master’s degree in expressive therapies and movement studies, and has been helping people feel more comfortable in their skin for decades.
Connections group to meet Sept. 22
GREENFIELD — Life transitions such as aging, moving, illnesses or experiencing loss can make it harder to stay connected to others. Those who are feeling isolated can consider attending the September Connections group at the Greenfield Senior Center to learn ways to turn a transition into an opportunity to make connections.

Birds of prey coming to Senior Center
GREENFIELD — Raptor rehabilitator Tom Ricardi of Conway will bring his birds of prey to the Greenfield Senior Center on Friday, Sept. 25, from 2 to 3 p.m.
Ricardi rehabilitates eagles, falcons, hawks, owls and other birds of prey. After recovering from their injuries, some are released back into the wild while some have injuries that prevent their survival in the wild.
The program is free of charge and open to all seniors. Senior Center membership is not required, but advance registration is necessary. To sign up, call 413-772-1517, ext. 0.
Cultural Council accepting grant applications
GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Local Cultural Council is now accepting grant proposals for arts and culture projects that enrich the public life of Greenfield and its residents.
The Greenfield Local Cultural Council received $20,800 from the Massachusetts Cultural Council to support local projects. Based on the results of the 2026 Community Arts and Culture Survey, the following types of projects are strongly encouraged: live music and concerts, public art, theater and performing arts, and social justice and cultural diversity events. Events taking place in Greenfield will be prioritized; events in neighboring communities will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
