Greenfield’s Gillis MacDougall competed at the Professional Disc Golf World Championships in Milford, Michigan over the weekend.
MacDougall finished tied for 72nd in a field of 208 athletes. MacDougall shot even par over the course of four rounds. His best round came in the second, where he shot a 63 on the par 65 (-2). Kensington Metropark hosted the event
MacDougall became a professional a 17-years old and has played on the disc golf tour for the last five years. 208 men and 92 women competed for $300,000 in total prize money over the course of the five-day tournament.

Oliver Bartus won the final Northfield Summer Road Race on August 27, completing the 3.1-mile course in 19 minutes 38 seconds. Elizabeth Edwards (21:33), Marcy Cabanas (21:37), Emmett Henderson (22:37) and Paul Hake (22:39) rounded out the top five. Twenty-five runners and seven walkers/ bikers participated.
Greenfield Touch Football
Blitzing Bears 18, Gill Woodworks 6 — Gabriel Fernandez had touchdown passes to Evan Graham and DJ Whitely in the win for the Bears. Graham also returned an interception 68 yards to seal the victory. Adam Bastarache hit Jalen Sanders with a touchdown pass in the losing effort.
Irish Ale House Tar Heels 25, J&J Athletics 6 — Heels quarterback Jarmel Brown found Mike Wiggins, Raekwon Hubbard, and Kashawn Brantley for touchdowns in the win for the Tar Heels. Damian Jones returned an interception 46 yards for the final score. Mak Rodgers found Mason Meadows for a 22-yard touchdown for J&J.
Sirum 53, Firebirds 0 — Jarod Hart accounted for seven touchdowns in the win for Sirum. Tyler Charbeneau caught two of the touchdowns for Sirum. Chris Hart, Jaden Whiting-Martinez and Colin Cloutier also had touchdown receptions. Hart had two touchdown runs of 15 and 16-yards.
Racing
JD Stockwell of Bernardston placed first in the Limited Late Model race at Monadnock Motor Speedway on August 29. Gill’s Zach Zilinski placed third.
In the Young Guns race, Whately’s Maeve Barry placed fourth.
