New e-library for Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum provides 24/7 access
SHELBURNE FALLS — The Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum recently launched an e-library that has music, e-books and movies available to download for free.
Those looking to access the online library would need to be in the vicinity of the museum, as it is connected to a hotspot that is located within the building. The network is named “SFTM eLibrary,” and once connected to the network, access to the library will be granted.
Griswold Memorial Library to host movie on the lawn
COLRAIN — As part of its Summer Reading Program, Griswold Memorial Library will host its summer reading rewards event and a movie on the lawn on Saturday, Aug. 22.
The movie being shown is the Disney and Pixar film “Hoppers,” and it will start at 8 p.m. Parking is available at the Colrain Historical Society, located at 8 Main Road. Those who attend are asked to bring lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on.

Pothole Pictures to show final film of spring/summer season
SHELBURNE FALLS — Pothole Pictures will show the final film of its spring/summer season this weekend at the Shelburne Falls Theater at Memorial Hall.
The movie being shown on Saturday, Aug. 22, is “Summer of Soul (…Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised).” It tells the story of the 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival, using video footage from the festival itself, as well as news broadcasts about the event.
Interviews with performers and attendees of the festival are part of the documentary, and it also explores the relationship this festival had with Woodstock, as the two events overlapped for one day. The film has won numerous awards, including the award for best documentary feature at the 94th Academy Awards.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children. Tickets can only be purchased with cash at the door, however, an ATM is available across the street from Memorial Hall. The movie begins at 7:30 p.m., with music performed by the Mill River Rounders starting at 7.

One article passed at Hawley Special Town Meeting
HAWLEY — Eleven Hawley residents unanimously passed one article on the warrant at Monday’s Special Town Meeting before skipping over the second article listed.
According to Administrative Assistant Tinky Weisblat, the second article will be dealt with in the future. It asked if the town would appropriate $10,200 to cover additional health insurance expenses for the town clerk, as the town had hoped to expand that role and increase its number of hours, meaning the position would be eligible for benefits.
Article 1 corrected some errors that existed in the spring Annual Town Meeting warrant. The errors occurred in Article 3 of the warrant, which was the town’s omnibus budget. In the second line of the budget, which was the salary for the moderator, it erroneously read that the wage would be $145, when it should have read $144.
Similarly, the total for Article 3 should have read $709,891. In both the language of the article and the column total within the omnibus budget, the total read $714,896. Both of these errors were rectified with the affirmative vote on Article 1 on Monday.
Weisblat mentioned that the quorum for Hawley is 10 residents.
