Corinne Coryat is the right person to receive your vote for the 1st Franklin District.
She brings the right combination of experience, knowledge, and focus to represent the community here in the district and at the Legislature in Boston. Her ability to work on many complex issues simultaneously is borne out by her resilience in addressing difficult questions in person.
Corinne has spent the past five years serving as former state rep. Natalie Blais’ senior staff member. She’s well-versed with pending legislation important to our community: rural aid, school funding, infrastructure, housing and economic development.
While working as Rep. Blais chief of staff, Corinne worked on the 2022 Rural Schools Commission Report and has been a strong advocate for fully funding the $60 million in rural school aid as recommended in the report. Corinne understands the necessity of funding rural schools and Chapter 70 funding reform.
Rural communities have different needs than larger communities; infrastructure, housing, and economic development must fit the size and needs of western Massachusetts. Corinne has worked to reform Chapter 90, state transportation laws, to take into account the total number of roadway miles a municipality must maintain when calculating allocations so the formula is no longer based solely on population density. She has consistently demonstrated an understanding of rural needs, and has worked to make policies that uplift communities that differ from those in other parts of the state.
Not only does she know her way around Beacon Hill, she knows where to find common ground with her colleagues in advancing our district’s agenda. Corinne Coryat is the right person to represent the 1st Franklin District and is a true champion of rural communities.
