9:54 a.m. — Report of counterfeit money at Harper’s Store on Colrain Road. Fake $100 bill was not attempted to be passed to the store, but a customer found it on the ground and asked the reporting party if it was real. Services rendered.
12:16 p.m. — Caller states a female party came out of the Greenfield Public Library on Main Street and lit a fire under some tinfoil. Unable to locate.
1:09 p.m. — Report of a vehicle operating erratically on Montague City Road. Daniel Robert Lavoie, 45, of South Street in Bernardston, was arrested on charges of OUI-liquor over .08%, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and driving at a rate of speed greater than what was reasonable and proper.
5:28 p.m. — City bylaw violation on Main Street. Chester Thadeus Sinclair, 78, homeless of Greenfield, was arrested on a charge of open container/drinking alcohol in public.
Tuesday, July 21
1:25 p.m. — Alarm sounding at Freedom Credit Union on Main Street. Teller motion, side door, multiple zones. New alarm system being installed, vendor changed. Old panel was not correctly placed in “test” mode before disconnecting, resulting in multiple alarms. Confirmed to be accidental.
4:13 p.m. — Suspicious activity reported on Franklin Street. Justin Horne, 35, of Main Street in Athol, was arrested on a charge of distributing a Class B drug.
10:55 p.m. — Reporting party from Davis Street states her phone and wallet were stolen, and her information was taken. Reporting party called two more times to report the same incident, and was upset that it was not being addressed quickly enough. Party was advised to come to the station if she wished to speak with an officer in person. Party drove to the station, but parked on the front lawn of 289 High St. and walked up to the station. Shelly Jean Pelletier, 53, of Davis Street in Greenfield, was arrested on charges of OUI-liquor over .08% (second offense), trespassing, and assault and battery on a police officer.
Wednesday, July 22
12:53 p.m. — Party from Davis Street states she gave rides to two different people the night before, and does not know their names or remember where she placed her wallet in her vehicle, but she last knew where he wallet was at 11:00 p.m. Party stated she possibly put it in the center console of her vehicle. She was advised to cancel her bank cards.
8:31 p.m. — Officer attempting to serve a warrant at Osgood and Federal streets. Izaya J. Busch, 20, of Pittsfield, was arrested on two warrants, as well as on charges of trafficking in more than 10 grams of fentanyl, and trafficking in 36 grams or more/less than 100 grams of cocaine.
Thursday, July 23
1:26 a.m. — Officer states a light pole near the basketball court on Riverside Drive is knocked over and still lit while on the ground. Unsure if there are any wires exposed. Property manager called back and advised they are aware of the light and they have contacted Eversource to come fix it. Manager also advised there are no exposed wires and that it is not causing a hazard at this time.
10:11 a.m. — Caller from Leyden Road states someone damaged her beehives and has taken the honey. Report issued.
11:56 a.m. — Reporting party reports he bought fake Jordans at the Salvation Army Thrift Store on Hope Street and the store is refusing to take them back. Reporting party was advised of store policy and civil issues. He said he will go to small claims court for the $30.
12:33 p.m. — John Edmund Cahill, 45, homeless of Greenfield, was arrested on High Street on a warrant.
8:12 p.m. — Reporting party states a male party in a white SUV followed her from Colrain to Staples on the Mohawk Trail and entered the store looking for her. Reporting party wanted it documented. She does not know anything about him. Advised to call police if he is seen again.
Friday, July 24
12:11 p.m. — Report of an unwanted person at Federal Street School. Male party in the courtyard took off his socks and shoes, urinated on the side of the building and is napping at the picnic bench. Party was advised not to come back and was moved along.
7:16 p.m. — Staff at the Greenfield River Swimming & Recreation Area on Nash’s Mill Road are locking the gates for the night. A vehicle is locked in the parking lot. Staff are unable to return to open the gates if the owner returns. Owner called, he is back at his vehicle. Officer responding with a set of keys to let the male party and vehicle out. Services rendered.
11:10 p.m. — Reporting party from Water Street states there is a party going on at a house on the end of the street, and there are vehicles speeding up and down the roadway. Reporting party also believes there is drug activity happening. Crowd dispersing upon arrival, negative drug activity.
Saturday, July 25
12:31 a.m. — Officer stopping a vehicle at Federal and Riddell streets. Henry Fischer, 25, of Brattleboro, Vermont, was arrested on charges of a marked lanes violation and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
2:22 p.m. — Reporting party from Hope Street states another party has been in the bathroom for more than an hour. Wants a welfare check. Reporting party was advised to check the bathroom himself. Bathroom was empty.
3:31 p.m. — Suspicious activity reported on Main Street. Phillip Lyman Clark, 49, of Arch Place in Greenfield, and Daniel Joseph Griffin, 44, also of Arch Place in Greenfield, were both arrested on a charge of open container/drinking alcohol in public.
Sunday, July 26
10:09 a.m. — Disturbance reported at McDonald’s on the Mohawk Trail. Older male party is yelling and wants to fight someone. Caller reporting he was shoved by another customer and staff are asking him to leave. Involved male was moved along and told not to return.
12:50 p.m. — Caller at Oak Courts reporting he thinks someone was hit with a bat and the bat was thrown into the field. Man in another apartment hit someone with a baseball bat, then sprayed pepper spray through their screen. Simple assault and battery between multiple people. Pepper spray was deployed by one party in an attempt to defend himself.
8:57 p.m. — Caller from Adams Road reports fireworks being set off in the area. Reporting party states this has been going on for the last week.
Monday, July 27
2:06 a.m. — Security alarm sounding at the Academy of Early Learning on Place Terrace. Motion detector in the perimeter hall to the gymnasium. All doors are locked. Officer reports a bat flying around inside the gym set off the alarm.
9:10 a.m. — Report of forgery/fraud at the Hampton Inn & Suites on Shelburne Road. Someone called the front desk claiming they were the owner of the hotel, stating the hotel owed them money for a fire inspection. The employee was then “coached” through breaking into the office and making transactions. Incident was caught by management prior to money being transferred. Report issued.
Tuesday, July 28
10:12 a.m. — Caller from Chapman Street is not home but saw on their cameras that someone took a package off their porch. Reporting party said a package of clothes was taken. A young girl is seen in the video. Female looks at the camera after reading the label and says it’s her stepdad’s package. Report issued.
1:23 p.m. — Report of shoplifting at Green Fields Market on Main Street. Party walked out with two drinks and two hot meals. Report issued.
11:54 p.m. — Officer conducting a premise check at the skate park on Chapman Street found a party slumped over at a bench. Katrina Ann Fisher-Crowley, 40, of Davis Street in Turners Falls, was arrested on charges of possession of a Class E drug and trespassing.
Wednesday, July 29
6:49 a.m. — Daniel Newton, 66, of Cedar Glen Circle in Greenfield, was arrested on a charge of violating a harassment prevention order.
9:10 p.m. — Disturbance reported at McDonald’s on the Mohawk Trail. Female party screaming at people. Kseniya L. Tkachenko, 33, of Chapman Street in Greenfield, was arrested on a charge of OUI-liquor over .08%
11:33 p.m. — Reporting party from Wildwood Avenue states that the Domino’s delivery driver drove off with his change and he wants it back. Stated that the total came to $27 and he gave the driver $40 and said he wanted change, but the driver left and now the store won’t answer the phone. Advised the reporting party that they would need to go to court to get their change back as it is a civil matter.
Thursday, July 30
9:53 a.m. — Suspicious activity reported at Energy Park on Miles Street. Brittney Leshae Martin, 25, of Davis Street, in Greenfield was arrested on four warrants.
11:11 a.m. — Report of a female party slumped over at the entrance to Federal Street Cemetery. Brandy Nicole Ciolino, 33, homeless, was arrested for possession of a Class E drug (eight counts).
12:41 p.m. — Report of breaking and entering into a vehicle on High Street. Wallet and watch taken. Wallet was turned in at the Greenfield Public Library and is now at the Police Station for pickup.
Friday, July 31
3:57 p.m. — Report of a city ordinance violation at Energy Park on Miles Street. Robert G. O’Brien, 38, homeless of Greenfield, was arrested on a charge of open container/drinking alcohol in public.
6:56 p.m. — Officer attempting to serve a warrant on French King Highway. Leah Daniels, 58, of French King Highway in Greenfield, was arrested on a warrant.
11:08 p.m. — Walk-ups to the substation on Main Street requesting a courtesy ride back to their hotel. Stated they were all intoxicated and don’t want to drive. All three males were respectful. A ride was provided with no issues.
Saturday, Aug. 1
12:03 p.m. — Caller from Briar Way wants to talk to an officer about something “touchy” going on with an organization in Greenfield. Reporting party believes there is organized prostitution nearby. Statement is a hunch. Services rendered.
6:26 p.m. — Caller from Linwood Street states his neighbor went into his mailbox earlier. Party is upset that his neighbor placed a notice in his mailbox about an upcoming party. Neighbor was informed of the complaint.
Sunday, Aug. 2
5:58 p.m. — Report of a white four-door sedan with a female driver and multiple occupants, yelling and making threats at a pedestrian in Court Square. Could not locate.
9:36 p.m. — Neighbor reporting a couple people are walking around with flashlights outside a home on Colrain Road that is for sale. Officer checking the area. All secure.
11:14 p.m. — Caller from Norwood Street states they have a bat flying around in their house. Advised they should try to contain it in one room. Message left for the animal control officer and an email was sent as well.
