I wish I lived on Lora Wondolowski’s side of Greenfield so that I could vote for her. Lora is running for state representative for the 1st Franklin District. She is a seasoned leader who has decades of experience bringing people together to make change. I had heard about Lora’s impressive work at Leadership Pioneer Valley for many years (her reputation preceded her) and then got to know her in her role at the Peace Development Fund. I have observed her step up to serve on the Greenfield City Council and get elected council president by her peers.
What impresses me about Lora is that she is the embodiment of servant leadership — active listening, empathy, and humility. She is someone who knows how to build consensus; she is not in it for the ego or to claim credit for things. These are the skills and attributes we need in our political leaders if we are going to make headway on critical issues such as the climate, affordable housing, schools, and public health, which is the field I work in. Please turn out on Primary Day, Tuesday Sept. 1, and vote for Wondo!
