11:09 a.m. — Report of a female party who is highly intoxicated and trying to break into a building on East Main Street. Officer advised. Officer advises the female party was sitting on the front steps, was not trying to break in. She is going home.

Tuesday, July 7

4:26 p.m. — Caller on Turners Falls Road states a tree on his property fell and is now resting on a live power line. Tree on a house, wires over the roadway are at risk of coming down and closing the road. Eversource advised. Building inspector also responded.

7:37 p.m. — Caller from Keith Street states that due to recent rain, what appears to be an old Rubbermaid container that was buried on the property has been unearthed. Reporting party states she has lived at the location for a number of years and hasn’t seen it before. Container has some type of plastic bag in it, unsure what contents are inside. Officer advises he located the container with deceased cat remains from the previous owner. Homeowner was advised to call the Board of Health. Services rendered.

Wednesday, July 8

1:34 p.m. — Employee from Food City on Avenue A reports a male party just stole a 24-pack of Corona beer and is on foot walking toward the Post Office. Officer located the male along with another male near the corner of Second Street and Avenue A. Involved male also had some items from Walgreens on his person that he had not paid for. Officer following up with Walgreens and Food City.

Thursday, July 9

10:47 a.m. — Reporting party would like it on record that someone “egged” her vehicle overnight and siphoned gas from it. Vehicle was parked in the parking lot next to her building on Fourth Street.

5:41 p.m. — Reporting party reports a female party is in the back of the building on East Main Street ripping his hammock apart and destroying property. Reporting party called back stating the female is getting aggressive (can hear yelling in the background). Female is on her way home and was advised to stay away from the address.

Friday, July 10

8:59 p.m. — Reporting party states there is a movie in Peskeompskut Park and there is a group of intoxicated people being loud and disruptive. Second caller reporting an intoxicated male party is trying to fight people and also reported the male left on a bicycle. Avenue A and side streets checked, unable to locate.

Saturday, July 11

10:05 a.m. — Walk-in to the station handing over what they believe is heroin that was found outside their apartment door on Bridge Street. Would like it tested by the Police Department. Reporting party is hoping to see increased police presence in the area. Advised that if any situation arises where they feel something suspicious is going on, or if anything of this nature occurs, to inform police.

11:44 a.m. — Reporting party states his mother backed into another vehicle in the parking lot of Greenfield Savings Bank on Avenue A. Officers advised. Officer advising minimal damage, involved will contact the insurance company themselves.

Sunday, July 12

1:44 p.m. — Reporting party states there are four vehicles driving on the grass at Unity Park on First Street, wrecking the grass and creating a safety hazard. Officer observed two vehicles near the camping area. Vehicles are not driving around. They drove to the picnic area to unload picnic goods and supplies. Will monitor the vehicles and will approach if they are not moved after unloading. Vehicles have exited on their own after unloading. No police action needed.

6:17 p.m. — Caller from O Street reports there was a small pop/explosion noise in her kitchen, which caused dishes to fall and smash on the floor. Reporting party states there is an oil-type smell in the house. Caller was transferred to the Shelburne Control Dispatch Center. Officers advised.

11:51 p.m. — Officer found a door propped wide open at the laundromat on Third Street. No one inside, door resecured.

Monday, July 13

7:47 p.m. — Caller states there were two vehicles drag racing in the area of Country Club Lane. Caller states she spoke to a Thomas Memorial Golf & Country Club worker who advised they have the license plate numbers of the involved vehicles. Officer followed up with an employee of the golf course who provided him with the name and a number of someone who may have been involved. Officer then made contact with the two involved parties, and informed them of the complaint and the potential negative repercussions. Both parties were receptive and one party took responsibility for the incident.

8:12 p.m. — Caller states an individual assaulted another party at the Nouria gas station on Third Street. Reporting party states the involved male party who was assaulted is 18 years old and has declined an ambulance. Male party that assaulted the other individual is no longer on scene, unknown if he had a vehicle or left on foot. Report taken.

8:40 p.m. — Caller from Montague City Road states she is missing a cheese grater, which was last seen in the kitchen. Reporting party was advised that the call would be logged.

10:49 p.m. — Caller from Federal Street states her fire alarm sounded when her dishwasher made a noise. No active fire. Call was transferred to the Shelburne Control Dispatch Center.

Tuesday, July 14

1:41 p.m. — Officer was flagged down by a motorist on Turners Falls Road who reported a parking complaint. States the vehicle is parked on a double corner and is hazardous. No signs in the area prohibiting parking. Vehicle is against the curb going with the flow of traffic and can be easily seen and avoided at 35 mph.

Wednesday, July 15

12:01 p.m. — Employee from the Lauralyn J. Brown Veterinary Hospital on Millers Falls Road states an older male party keeps coming in demanding they treat his cat. He is aggressive toward staff and they have told him not to come back but he has returned multiple times. They will call if he shows up again. Officer advised.

12:19 p.m. — Reporting party from 11th Street states her wallet and license were taken from her vehicle overnight. No money inside, but her license is gone. She is going to the Registry of Motor Vehicles to get a new one. Reporting party did not speak English, so a translation app was used.

8:19 p.m. — Reporting party on Avenue A states her neighbor is outside on her balcony screaming profanities and yelling about how good her drugs are. Female was advised of the noise complaint, stated she will turn the music down and stop yelling.

Thursday, July 16

3:50 p.m. — Reporting party from Chestnut Street states his downstairs neighbor has two small dogs that he is nervous will bite him and that they need to be trained. On record. States he is going to reach out to animal control to see if they are able to assist.

7:58 p.m. — Reporting party states that when he was walking out of the Montague Village Store on Main Street, a man came up to him and asked if he had ever been hit by a car, then stated he hopes he is. Man is reportedly sitting on the front steps of the store smoking a cigarette. Reporting party states he has some of the interaction on video. Store owner calling requesting to be notified of what is going on as it is involving a building tenant. Situation was mediated, male was informed not to speak to juveniles regarding such matters. Store owner was updated on the situation.

Friday, July 17

2:40 a.m. — Caller from Ripley Road reports hearing voices in her driveway. Officers sent. Unable to locate anyone.

10:04 a.m. — Reporting party states she is at the Montague Plains with two of her horses, and they got loose and she cannot catch them. When she gets near them, they run away. Officer and two animal control officers advised. Reporting party called back stating she located the horses.

5:00 p.m. — Reporting party reports witnessing a seemingly intoxicated male make threats to beat and kill a couple in Peskeompskut Park on Avenue A. Last seen walking across the grass in the direction of the Post Office. Officer states he spoke with the parties who were reportedly threatened. They stated they were not threatened. Involved male was being loud but not harassing them. Officer spoke with the male party who said he was heading home.

7:23 p.m. — Reporting party from Court Square reports her neighbor is target shooting and it is disturbing her peace. Officer spoke with the reporting party, advised her this has been investigated during previous calls and the neighbor is within his legal rights.

Saturday, July 18

12:12 p.m. — Caller on J Street states there is a boy who was taken into a camper, brought out a few minutes later and placed into a silver sedan. Party states she thinks he was drugged while inside. Not as reported. Homeless male party is staying in the camper. No drug activity.

1:06 p.m. — Reporting party from Third Street states a downstairs neighbor has had an alarm sounding for the last couple of hours, thinks it’s a fire alarm. No answer at the door. No smoke or flames. Negative findings.

5:10 p.m. — Officer assisting the Greenfield Police Department with a vehicle that was slow to stop coming over the General Pierce Bridge. Two Greenfield units on scene.

Sunday, July 19

8:38 a.m. — Employee of Food City on Avenue A reports there is a raccoon in the store. Animal control officer contacted. Raccoon was removed from the building.

1:58 p.m. — Caller on Turners Falls Road reports her Australian shepherd and a gray pit bull got into a fight and her dog bit the pit bull. Both dogs were separated by the owners. Reporting party will also leave a message with the animal control officer.
