Aug. 21: Learn about the Elderly & Disabled Tax Fund
GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Senior Center will host an educational session about the Elderly & Disabled Tax Fund application process on Friday, Aug. 21, at 11 a.m.
The Elderly & Disabled Tax Fund is a municipal program designed to provide a lifeline for low-income homeowners. The fund is managed by a five-member committee that includes the city treasurer, the chair of the Board of Assessors and three citizens appointed by the mayor.
This drop-in event is free and open to Greenfield homeowners. No advance registration is required.
Senior Center hosting program on AI
GREENFIELD — Those wondering what artificial intelligence (AI) actually is, and what it isn’t, are invited to join Digital Navigator Rich to explore the real-world side of AI on Friday, Aug. 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Greenfield Senior Center.
Attendees will talk about general opinions around AI, explain what it can and can’t do, and discuss common myths that can make it feel confusing or overwhelming. They’ll learn how AI works in simple terms, where it already shows up in everyday life and how it can sometimes reflect bias. Participants will also explore privacy, safety and ethical considerations to feel confident using these tools wisely, and learn how to ask AI better questions to get helpful answers.
