Greenfield native Chris Kenny’s legacy at Saint Michael’s College garnered an induction into the college’s Athletic Hall of Fame, the school announced through a press release.
On Sept. 25, the school plans to host “An Evening with Chris Kenny” celebration starting at 6 p.m. at Delta Hotels by Marriot in South Burlington Vt. As part of the event, Kenny will be announced as the sole member of the Saint Michael’s Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

Kenny was a Department of Athletics administrator from 1987 to 2024. After that, he moved into a new role as the college’s Executive Director of Stewardship & Leadership Giving and heads into his 40th year as a Saint Michael’s employee this fall.
Prior to his stint as Director of Athletics (2015-24), Kenny was Senior Associate Director of Athletics (2014-15), Associate Director of Athletics (2003-14), Assistant Director of Athletics (1998-2003), Director of Athletic External Affairs (1996-98), and Sports Information Director (1987-96).
Kenny led Saint Michael’s Athletics through a period of growth as athletic director. The number of full-time head coaches more than doubled and additional staff supported areas such as strength & conditioning, sports medicine and athletic communications. Kenny’s eldest daughter, Jillian, graduated from Saint Michael’s in 2018.
Kenny is a product of Saint Michael’s, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism in 1986 and a Master of Science degree in administration and management at the College in 1998.
Fishing
Greenfield’s Ben Johnston, along with teammate Will Canada, finished 38th out of 194 teams at the Strike King Bassmaster High School Championships at Kentucky Lake in Paris, Tennessee. The competition ended on Aug. 1.
On the first day, Johnston’s three best fish weighed nine pounds and nine ounces. On day two, Johnston’s best two fish weighed seven pounds and five ounces.
Caige Bragg of Alabama took first overall at the event, with a total of nine fish weighing 38 pounds and four ounces.
