DEERFIELD — A week and a half after he was reported missing, Zachery Stolpp of Brattleboro, Vermont, was found dead in Deerfield.
The 27-year-old was reported missing on Monday, July 20, and his body was found in Deerfield on Wednesday, July 29, at around 6:30 p.m., according to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office.
Following Stolpp’s disappearance, the Deerfield Police Department had posted on its Facebook page that it was working with the Massachusetts State Police and Brattleboro Police Department to investigate the missing man after he “left statements including self-harm” in Brattleboro.
When the search commenced, Stolpp had been last seen on July 20 in South Deerfield, where he dropped off his company’s vehicle at his job on South Main Street, Deerfield Police Sgt. Adam Sokoloski said at the time. State troopers and K-9s were tasked with searching the area.
According to the DA’s office, there is no indication of foul play at this time. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine Stolpp’s official cause of death.
