The Mohawk boys summer league team fell to Narragansett, 37-26, in DRIVE Hoops Summer League play at Greenfield High School on Tuesday night.
The Warriors pulled away late in the first half and held off the Warriors for the remainder of the game. Bruin Thompson led Mohawk with nine points. AJ Redeker added five points, with Cole Cross chipping in with four points.
Tripp Thompson nailed a 3-pointer for Mohawk.
Easthampton 55, Turners Falls 39 — An early lead quickly vanished for the Thunder in the loss to Easthampton. Freilyn Abarua led Turners Falls with 17 points. Chris Abarua added seven points in the loss.
Keene 48, Greenfield 46 — The visitors from New Hampshire took down the home team in the nightcap. Tyler Stanley led the Blackbirds with 13 points. Gavin Arsenault led Greenfield with 21 points.
Franklin Tech Girls Summer League Basketball
Frontier 62, Greenfield 24 — The Redhawks had four players in double-figures in the win over Greenfield at Franklin Tech on Tuesday. Addie Harrington and Harper Modestow led the way with 14 points and 12 points, respectively. Abby Cendrowski added 11 points, with Jazzy Hayes finding some more offense with 10 points.
Tayler Bergeron scored 13 points for Greenfield. Sarah McCloud added eight points.
Pioneer 26, Mahar 8 — Maggie Tsipenyuk scored eight points for the Panthers in the win over the Senators. Ariana Perkins added six points, with Jaelyn Boliski chipping in with five points. Adalynn Almeida led Mahar with four points.
Mohawk 29, Athol 16 — The Warriors cruised past Athol behind 10 points from Emmalee Inman. Natalie Lanoue added eight points for Mohawk. Serena Nkengafe scored eight points for Athol.
Franklin Tech 42, Athol 34 — Abigail Dobias (13 points) and Bella Brown-Stratton (10 points) led the offense in the Eagles’ win over the Bears in the late game. Brayleigh Burgh added nine points while Madison Ross added seven points for Franklin Tech. Maliah Clark exploded for 28 points for the Bears.
Franklin County Softball League
Defenders 16, Havoc 15 —Addison Talbot supplied the walk-off hit for the Defenders in the win over the Havoc on July 13. The Defenders scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth to grab the win. Talbot finished 2-for-3 with an RBI while Charlie Bishop, Kaylin Sevoian and Azariah Stebbins each had two RBI in the victory. Maeve Bertrand had three hits and three RBI for the Havoc. Sadie Nichols added two hits with two RBI. Shelby Beck pitched three innings with five strikeouts for the Defenders.
College
The American Hockey Coaches Association named Deerfield native Kelly Howe of the William Smith hockey team as a 2025-2026 Krampade All-American Scholar for the second the straight season. To receive recognition, student-athletes needed to appear in 40 percent of the team’s games and have a minimum GPA of 3.75.
Howe studied International Relations at William Smith. In her senior season, Howe played in all 27 games and recorded six goals and six assists with 10 blocked shots for the Herons. She also won 222 faceoffs and tied the program record in careers games with 107 for her career.
