The regular season concluded for Greenfield Post 81 with an 11-0 (five innings) win over Aldenville Post 337 under the lights at Szot Park in Chicopee on Monday night.
Greenfield (14-0-2) received the top-seed in the Western Mass. American Legion playoffs and will host a playoff game at Veterans Memorial Field on Thursday. First pitch is set for 5:45.
Five pitchers took to the mound against Aldenville, each pitching one inning. Evan Tsipenyuk, Bodie Burke, Sam Connors, Aidan Shea and Arthur Fitzpatrick combined for eight strikeouts in the win. Connors needed 13 pitches to record three strikeouts.
Greenfield scored seven runs in the second inning. Nick Prasol and Shawn Baumann both had hits that scored two runs as Greenfield pulled away. Ethan Mauthe opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning.
Mauthe finished 2-for-2 with three RBIs and two walks. Prasol and Baumann each finished with two RBIs. Conner Bergeron had an RBI with three walks and two runs scored.
Burke and Mauthe both added two stolen bases.
Franklin County Softball League
Menace 10, Wolfpack 1 — The Menace got a double and an RBI from Madison Ross in the win over the Wolfpack on Monday. Deshiana Davis, Chloe Banas and Ross each had an RBI for the Menace. Sofia Melnik and Alexis Berry added hits. Berry and Lucy Graham combined for a no-hitter and 12 strikeouts in the circle.
Greenfield Tennis Association
Caleb Pelle and Jackie Bagwell outlasted Brian Lamore and David Reading 6-2, 3-6 and 7-5 to capture the Annual People’s Pint doubles tournament at Highland and Beacon tennis courts over the weekend. In the consolation round, Zach Arfa and Aaron Nelson defeated Mike Husted and Tim Prevost 6-4, 7-5.

Norm Morris registered the fourth hole-in-one of his career on July 11. Morris nailed the ace on the fifth hole from 135 yards out using an 8 iron. John Stacy, Bill Luippold, Trenton Vielbig, Eric Shattuck, Ike Purington and Roy Emerson witnessed the shot.
Mike Silipo nailed an ace on the fifth-hole from 120 yards out using a 9-iron on Monday. It was the second hole-in-one of his career.
