SHELBURNE FALLS — Wooden boats will populate the grassy knoll next to The Mill at Shelburne Falls as part of an evening of open studios.

The boats will be displayed on the grass next to Raven Used Books from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 10. Some of the featured boats include an Adirondack guide boat, a strip-built baidarka, a wooden kayak designed by Coughlin Fine Woodworking and a Whitehall-style Acorn 17, among other wooden boats.

While the showcase, which is free to attend, officially starts at 5 p.m., the boats will be set up for display starting at 4 p.m. Event organizers ask that if you have a boat you would like to display to let them know by filling out a Google Form at tinyurl.com/3u3nv69f.

Meanwhile, The Mill at Shelburne Falls will host open studios, also from 5 to 7 p.m. Multiple artist studios will be open to guests, with more than 15 different artists and makers having their workspaces in The Mill.
