TURNERS FALLS — Just keep swimming to JaDuke Theater at 110 Industrial Blvd. to catch six performances of Disney’s “Finding Nemo: The Musical” starting Friday, July 10.

The musical will open Friday with a 6 p.m. show, followed by another 6 p.m. show on Saturday, July 11, and a 2 p.m. matinee performance on Sunday, July 12. Another set of performances will take place on Friday, July 17, and Saturday, July 18, at 6 p.m., before a final showing at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 19.

“‘Finding Nemo’ is a reminder that the best adventures begin when we step outside our comfort zone and lean on the people who love us,” Producer Kimberly Williams said in a statement. “In a world that can feel busy and overwhelming, we’re excited to offer families an opportunity to laugh together, be inspired together and make memories together through live theater.”

The musical follows the story originally told in the 2003 film “Finding Nemo.” Nemo, a young clownfish, is captured and taken to Sydney, Australia. His overprotective father Marlin teams up with the optimistic but forgetful Dory as they set out to rescue Nemo.

The shows will feature more than 50 local performers, with Sadie Jean Williams playing Nemo the first weekend, followed by Madison Bernard the second weekend. Joining them will be Briggs Doxzen as Marlin and Juniper Holmes as Dory. Also on stage will be Cody McDonough as Bruce the shark, and Dominic Lewis as Crush the sea turtle.

Inspired by the production at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park, JaDuke’s “Finding Nemo: The Musical” features the same style of larger-than-life puppetry. A combination of professionally rented and handcrafted puppets, visual effects and immersive staging transforms the theater into an underwater world.

“It combines breathtaking visuals, unforgettable music, imaginative puppetry and characters audiences already love,” Director Nicholas Waynelovich said in a statement. “Watching our cast create this underwater world has been incredibly rewarding, and I can’t wait for families to experience the adventure together.”

Tickets are available on JaDuke Theater’s website, jaduketheater.com, and can be purchased at the box office before each performance.
