Casey Aubrey’s July 3 column in the Recorder titled “Supporting survivors beyond the legal system” was a courageous and informative statement. Bravely using their own experience to talk about the aftermath of living with abuse and finding support, Casey shines a light on the very important work of the Children’s Advocacy Center. We must rid ourselves of the social stigma around speaking out about this, all to common, abuse. Our children deserve adult support to bring this issue into the light of day.
