6:55 p.m. — Reporting party on Roosevelt Street wants it on record that she received a text message saying she has to go to court for multiple Registry of Motor Vehicles infractions and that it is a scam. Report taken.
11:37 p.m. — Caller states a female party has been watching her dog for more than a month and is refusing to give it back. Reporting party was advised an officer would give her a call back. Caller states she resides in Greenfield and the female that has the dog resides in Montague. Officer advised this was a civil issue and informed them about the process through the court system and how to prove ownership of the dog.
Tuesday, April 28
2:06 p.m. — Caller states there are two male parties at Peskeompskut Park on Avenue A with open containers. Officer advises no one is at the park at this time. Unfounded.
2:24 p.m. — Reporting party on Fifth Street states he was unloading his 9mm handgun in his kitchen and it went off and shot through a cabinet. No injuries. Report taken.
8:56 p.m. — Reporting party on Fourth Street states people are having an out-of-control bonfire in the backyard and sparks are flying everywhere. Shelburne Control Dispatch Center and officer advised.
Wednesday, April 29
1:42 p.m. — Report of a gas spill near the pumps at the Nouria gas station on Third Street. Call transferred to the Shelburne Control Dispatch Center.
6:19 p.m. — Walk-in to the station is looking to speak to an officer regarding a suspicious male party who was on her property on Walnut Street when she returned home. States he lives in the building next door and should not be on the property. Reporting party spoke to the property manager who states he will speak with the male. Officer advised the reporting party of the process of getting a no-trespass order with the landlord.
Thursday, April 30
4:43 p.m. — Reporting party from West Chestnut Hill Road states his vehicle was struck in his yard and he would like to file an accident report. Report taken.
10:05 p.m. — Officer checking for a girl at a property on Montague City Road for the Chicopee Police Department. Girl located and will be in the Conference Room at the Public Safety Complex until her father picks her up. Father came to the station.
Friday, May 1
1:50 a.m. — Report of a dog barking in a white vehicle near K Street and Fifth Street. Received a second call, reporting party states the dog appears to have been abandoned and has been howling for the past 20 minutes. Vehicle gone on arrival, pedestrian stated it took off heading north on Avenue A. Officer checked the area to the bridge and found nothing.
10:38 a.m. — Caller from Davis Street reports ongoing issues with her neighbor since August. Has filed multiple reports. Reporting party states lately her neighbor is parking her car too close to hers and copying what she is doing. For example, the reporting party stated she vacuumed her stairs and the next day her neighbor bought a vacuum. Reporting party washed her trash bins and the next day, the neighbor also washed her trash bins. Reporting party understands the civility nature of the neighbor’s actions and behaviors, although it may be annoying. Reporting party has reported this to the housing authority and requests that it also be put on record with the Police Department as another incident of harassment.
8:55 p.m. — Caller from Fourth Street states the neighbors stole wood from her yard for their fire pit and now they are calling her names and she feels threatened. No disturbance occurring upon officer’s arrival. Spoke with both parties, who agreed to stay civil.
Saturday, May 2
6:33 p.m. — Reporting party is walking a dog at the Montague Plains Wildlife Management Area near Hatchery Road, and there are five dirt bikes racing around and kicking up dirt. Officer advised.
7:59 p.m. — Reporting party states a dirt bike, red in color, is driving on the street near Carroll’s Market on East Main Street. No plate and being unsafe. Officer advised.
Sunday, May 3
4:58 p.m. — Owner of Connecticut River Liquors on Avenue A reporting a shoplifting incident that occurred at 4:38 p.m. and was just reported to her by the store clerk. Reporting party reviewed the surveillance footage from home and can send the footage to the investigating officer. Officer advised the clerk if the male returns to attempt to identify him and call police. (Clerk called at 7:30 p.m. on May 3 saying he can see the suspect standing across the street from the business on Avenue A.) Officer advised.
