When the Franklin County Community Meals Program announced in early May their plan to temporarily pause operations in Greenfield, the team at Second Congregational Church went to work to ensure there would still be a hot meal available every Wednesday evening to anyone who needed it. For us, this is all part of practicing God’s love in the world.
And we could never have done it alone. To the many local partners who donated food on short notice and without hesitation to keep the Wednesday meal going at the church on the common, we extend a huge thank you!
Kirsten Levitt at Stone Soup Cafe, Craig and Amy White at Hillside Pizza, Mike McCarthy at Deerfield Academy, the teams at Big Y, Stop & Shop, and BJ’s Wholesale Club, Shel Ball and Mary Sirum at Eaglebrook School and Green Fields Market.
What a remarkable outpouring of support from the organizations and businesses that feed all of us in this community!
With appreciation for the generosity of these partners, and for all the neighbors who come together at community meals.
