New Fortune outlasted Maniatty’s 17-12 in Greenfield Minor League Baseball action on May 27. Elijah Lawler went 4-for-4 with a triple in the victory in Major League play.

Sean Winslow also went 4-for-4 with five runs scored. Brooks Williams and Reed Kelley each added doubles for New Fortune.

Owen Castine had two hits while Brock Puchalski and Emerson Snow each had hits for Maniatty’s.

Smitty’s Pub 4, Gilmore & Farrell 3 — Bryce Urkiel had two hits, and Everett Turner had a hit with an RBI in the win for Smitty’s Pub. Elias Tripp got the win with two scoreless innings on the mound. Adrian Lopez hit a two-run home run and Blake Minor had two doubles to lead Gilmore & Farrell.

Baker Financial 15, Gagne 7 Liam Grant led Baker Financial with four hits with a homer in the win over Gagne in AA Division play on May 23. Parker Clough Campagna hit a three-run home run for Baker. Izzy Hickey hit a three-run home run in the loss for Gagne.

Greenfield Girls Softball League

Alliance Partners 7, Sandri 3 Alliance Partners got the win over Sandri in Junior Division play on May 26. Aubrey Marshall-Hamberg and Sydney Brown went 3-for-3 for the victors.  Zoey Taylor also contributed with two singles.  Alivia Griffith and Sophia Flores both went 3-for-3 for Sandri.

Descavich 8, Gilmore & Farell 7 The Plumbers downed the Insurers on May 26 behind a power surge from Ava Martin and Leah Batiste. Martin homered while Batiste homered twice for Descavich. Mia Beckwith added two more hits. Kammie Beck struck out 10 in the circle for Gilmore & Farrell. Rebecca Hanono helped the on base percentage, reaching in every at bat for Gilmore & Farrell.

Golf

The eighth annual Feed the Families tournament will take place on June 20th at Thomas Memorial. The event will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start. All teams must be paid ($320) by June 6. The event is a four-person scramble with cash prizes for first place, second place, women’s team and mixed team. All golfers will receive free frankfurters. Skins and Closet to pin available for $5. Matt Grover nailed an ace on the fifth using a 43-degree gap wedge on May 25. Jacob Kelton and Lucas Kelton witnessed the shot.

Co-ed

Smitty’s 25, Posada’s 7 — Dakota Dodge, Kristin Mientka and Colton Yezierski combined to go 15-for-15 in the resounding win for Smitty’s on May 26. Will Lanzillo went 3-for-3 with an RBI for Posada’s. George Correa and Rachael Renaud (two RBI) both added two hits.

Avery’s Landscaping 12, Liberty Tax Sharks 7 Olivia Noyes had three hits and three RBI in the win for the Landscapers on May 26. Jared Hart, Mason Meadows, Nuny Vega and Zacharay Sciandra each added two hits for Avery’s Landscaping. For the Sharks, Kenzie Bardwell, Jacob Christie and Kyle Conway each had two hits. Christie had a double and a triple.
