MONROE — Just under one-third of Monroe’s registered voters cast their ballots in the town election on Monday.

Of the town’s 90 registered voters, 29 decided on who will hold various town government positions, none of which were contested. The election also saw no ballot candidates for library trustee, nor any write-in candidates for the position.

The election results are as follows:

  • Tree warden — Incumbent Brian Lynch, 24 votes.
  • Selectboard/Planning Board/Board of Health — Incumbent Alice Houghtaling for three years, 14 votes. New candidate James Bua was also elected to fill the remaining one year of Dave Nash’s term, as Nash resigned as of May 1. He received 22 votes.
  • School Committee — Incumbent Kim Oakes for three years, 26 votes.
  • Finance Committee — New candidate Joann Bingham for three years, 28 votes.
  • Constable — New candidate Joseph Cashman for three years, 28 votes.
  • Moderator — Incumbent Joseph Cashman for one year, six votes.
  • Town clerk — New candidate Sharon Oakes for one year, 19 votes.
  • Auditor — Incumbent Sharon Oakes for one year, 28 votes.
