South Deerfield, MA – Jean Galvis, 97, of South Deerfield, formerly of Northfield, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Charlene Manor in Greenfield, MA. She was born in Boston, MA, the daughter of Effie Parker. She was a high school graduate and later in life married Eugene Galvis who predeceased her. She worked as a home health care aide. She loved to fish and hunt, horses and her flower gardens.
She is survived by a daughter, Karen Arsenault (Dan) of Montague, two sons, Stephen Smith of South Deerfield and Urson Smith (Lynn) of Florida, grandchildren, Lynn Bastarache, Carrie Roeder and Lisa Kitca and four great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one sister, Shirley Jallet and five brothers, Donald, William, Robert, Gordon and Raymond.
There will be a private graveside service at the Farms Cemetery in Northfield, MA.
Kidder Funeral Home, 1 Parker Ave, Northfield, MA is assisting the family with arrangements.
