Atticus needs just the right home to succeed. He is a very insecure dog and will lash out if he feels pressured or threatened. The staff members at the Franklin County Sheriff's Office Regional Dog Shelter have been working to build his trust with people. Atticus will need a home without children and with someone who has worked with fear biters. He is not a dog for an inexperienced owner or family. Atticus will play with other friendly dogs but can be protective of his things and his food. It is unclear how he would behave with cats, though he fostered in a home for a weekend and barked at the resident cat quite a bit. For more information, call the shelter at 413-676-9182.
