Why are we supporting genocide in Gaza? Why are we bombing Iran while our health care facilities, our schools, and towns are facing more budget cuts, and people here are looking at skyrocketing costs for medical care and other essentials?
It seems that many Israeli and U.S. citizens do not want war, but both countries are led by those who are ignoring the short- and long-term costs to their own citizens as well as to the health of the planet. Wars are incredibly expensive and polluting for a world that needs to look carefully at the elephant in the room — our unrelenting climate crisis.
Countries that are not spending their resources on war are successfully creating alternatives to fossil fuels. With the political will, we can also turn from militarism to healing our home, this earth.
