Last Wednesday, I listened to our president’s address to the nation regarding our war against Iran. While I had little expectation of learning anything substantive I was shocked when Trump threatened to bomb Iran back to the stone age. This is an unprecedented low point in our history. This president is threatening to commit universally recognized war crimes. Iran is a nation of 90 million people. Only a small fraction of Iranians support the terrible Iranian regime. Destroying civilian infrastructure and bombing Iran back to the stone age would primarily hurt and even kill the majority of Iranians who do not support the current Iranian regime.
We should be ashamed of our government and especially our president.
