Town caucus rescheduled to March 12

BERNARDSTON — Due to inclement weather earlier this month, the nonpartisan town caucus has been rescheduled to Thursday, March 12, at 7 p.m. at the Bernardston Senior Center.

A quorum of 25 registered Bernardston voters is required.

Nominations will be accepted for the following positions, which will appear on the May 4 town election ballot:

  • Board of Assessors, one seat with a three-year term.
  • Board of Health, one seat with a three-year term and one seat with a two-year term.
  • Constable, three-year term.
  • Cushman Library trustees, four seats with three-year terms and one seat with a two-year term.
  • Moderator, three-year term.
  • Powers Institute trustees, four seats with three-year terms and one seat with a two-year term.
  • Recreation Commission, two seats with three-year terms and one seat with a one-year term.
  • Selectboard, one seat with a three-year term.

Anyone who would like to be on the ballot should attend the caucus to be nominated. If a person is not nominated at the caucus, then they may obtain a nomination form from Town Clerk Christina Slocum-Wysk. The candidate must then obtain the required number of signatures and return the nomination form to the Town Clerk’s Office.

Irish history, music coming to Warwick library

WARWICK — The Warwick Free Public Library will host an evening of Irish history and music on Thursday, March 12, at 7 p.m.

Dave and Char Beach will perform on guitar, mandolin and harp. Attendees are invited to sing along, or just listen and enjoy some Irish soda bread and tea.

Cub Scouts Pack 3 holding pancake breakfast

BERNARDSTON — Cub Scouts Pack 3 will hold a pancake breakfast at the Bernardston Veterans Club, 16 Hartwell St., on Sunday, March 15, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Meals cost $10 for adults and $5 for children. Pancakes, bacon, sausage, fruit, coffee, tea and juice will be served, along with Scout-made maple syrup. Gluten-free pancakes are available upon request.
