HADLEY, MA – Patricia Lois McDonald Carlisle passed away Monday, February 23, 2026 in Hadley, MA. Patricia was born in Prentiss, Maine on September 10, 1932 to Cora Alta Chubbuck and Adrian E. McDonald. Her siblings were, Helen Ardine McDonald Burke, Adrian E. McDonald, Jr. (changed in Navy), Alta Louise McDonald Jarris, Jeannette Marie McDonald Morrison, Arderine June McDonald Raymond, Judith Elaine McDonald Osborne.
In 1951 she graduated from Stearns High School in Millinocket, Maine. She graduated as Registered Nurse from Franklin County Public Hospital School of Nursing, now Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield, Mass in 1954.
Patricia married William J. Carlisle in 1955 and had two children, a son Stuart B. Carlisle and a daughter Roxanne Carlisle who passed away in 1981.
Patricia worked as an R.N. at Wesson Memorial Hospital in Springfield, MA, while living for 26 years in East Longmeadow, MA. They moved to Turners Falls in 1981 to a home built by husband Bill and his brother Walter Carlisle.
A nature lover and outdoor enthusiast, gardener, hiker, biker, skier and since 1989 an Eagle Watcher and volunteer at the Conte National Fish and Wildlife Center in Turners Falls, MA. Patricia was also a volunteer member of Restorative Board of Reinventing Justice in Greenfield, MA. Her other interests include sewing, quilting, rug braiding, painting and photography. A deep and abiding love of Maine and Mt. Katahdin, an anticipated destination.
