RMV rep to present safe driving workshop for older drivers
NORTHFIELD — The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles’ Community Outreach Coordinator Michele Ellicks will present “Shifting Gears,” a safe driving workshop for older drivers, on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m.
According to the Registry of Motor Vehicles, data shows that 94% of crashes are caused by driver error, which means nearly all crashes are preventable. The workshop aims to improve the safety of all road users.
Topics will include warning signs of unsafe driving; how age-related changes might impact driving; rules of the road, including laws against distracted driving and the Move Over Law; and driving retirement. The program also identifies the most common collisions for older drivers, provides safe driving tips and shares transportation options.
Opera singer coming to Senior Center
BERNARDSTON — Boston opera star Letitia Stevens will perform at the Bernardston Senior Center on Monday, Feb. 23, at 3 p.m., followed by dinner at 4 p.m.
Stevens will be performing with accompanist Leonardo Ciampa. There is a suggested donation of $5.

Fire Department holding pancake breakfast
NORTHFIELD — The Northfield Fire Department will hold a pancake breakfast on Sunday, Feb. 22, from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Northfield Elementary School, 104 Main St.
The cost is $8 for adults and $6 for children. Those ages 5 and under can eat for free.
Pizza dinner precedes performance by Magic Mojo Band
WARWICK — The Trinitarian Congregational Church Mission Committee of Warwick and Wooden Fender will present a concert and dance with music by the Magic Mojo Band, along with a pizza dinner, at Warwick Town Hall on Saturday, Feb. 21.
The Magic Mojo Band, based in the Northeast, combines elements of alternative, bluesy roots and rock into a unique sound. The band, fronted by vocalist Rita Tolman, will perform from 7 to 9:30 p.m. There is a $5 suggested donation.
Preceding the concert from 5:30 to 7 p.m. will be a pizza dinner offering six varieties of pizza, including a gluten-free option, from Pizza Factory in Orange. Options include a $12 meal deal (two slices of pizza, salad, a drink and dessert), an $8 meal deal (one slice of pizza, salad, a drink and dessert) or $5 per slice of pizza. All proceeds support the local and worldwide mission projects of the Trinitarian Congregational Church of Warwick.
