Monday, Jan. 12
1:54 a.m. — Caller from Conway Street reports a bat is in their bedroom. Animal control officer contacted and they will follow up in the morning.
6:01 a.m. — Caller reports a vehicle behind her has been flashing their lights at them. Reporting party stated she pulled over for them to pass, but they did not pass. Reporting party stated she turned off of Silver Street and the other vehicle rapidly passed her going toward Conway Street. Could not locate.
9:07 a.m. — Officer attempting to serve a warrant on Laurel Street. Jefreno D. Maisonet, 27, of Hope Street in Greenfield, was arrested on a warrant.
3:38 p.m. — Officer attempting to serve a warrant on Wells Street. Joseph Howard Keeney, 31, of Wells Street in Greenfield, was arrested on a warrant.
5:07 p.m. — Report of a fire in the trees near Stop & Shop on the French King Highway. Visible smoke and flames under the high-tension lines. Various fire apparatuses responded, along with police to handle traffic. Road closure signs requested from the Department of Public Works. Command moving an engine to Eliza Lane. Turners Falls Road reopened. Fire extinguished and under control.
5:11 p.m. — Reporting party from Heather Court hears loud banging from the apartment next door. Investigated. Juveniles playing, no issues.
5:52 p.m. — Reporting party from Conway Street reports seeing two men with flashlights crawling through the window into an abandoned house on the corner of the street. No breaking and entering. New homeowners forgot the key to the house they are renovating and were putting materials in the house through an open window.
Tuesday, Jan. 13
4:53 p.m. — Report of unwanted people at the Center for Human Development on Main Street. Reporting party states about three people, who are possibly intoxicated, are being disruptive and playing loud music. Reporting party is not on scene but received an email from staff. Staff contacted their manager because the parties were in the lobby and they don’t feel comfortable asking them to leave. Parties were asked to turn down the music and leave in 30 minutes. All agreed this was reasonable.
8:03 p.m. — Reporting party from Bernardston Road states she came home and found a beheaded opossum on her garage. Doesn’t believe it was done by an animal due to it being too clean of a cut. Party is requesting it be documented.
Wednesday, Jan. 14
1:25 a.m. — Reporting party from Armory Street states she was trying to walk home and a female party came outside and took her walker. Walker retrieved and returned. Verbal disagreement over a missing phone.
8:55 a.m. — Possible sinkhole reported on Chapman Street. Roughly 1 foot deep. Department of Public Works notified. Cones placed around the sinkhole. One-lane sign will also be placed.
12:01 p.m. — Reporting party from Harris Court states her neighbor keeps stomping around the apartment. Not currently in progress. Ongoing issue. Additional caller reports the neighbor is screaming, stomping and making racist comments. Party was upset that the web browser kept prompting him to confirm he is not a robot. Party was advised to quiet down for the neighbors.
Thursday, Jan. 15
10:15 a.m. — Reporting party looking to speak with an officer regarding encampments. Members of the Center for Human Development and Community Action Pioneer Valley wanted to inform officers that they will be conducting a survey of the homeless population on Monday, Jan. 26, starting at 9 a.m. Also looking for four volunteers to accompany them, if possible. Services rendered.
12:57 p.m. — Report of loud music being played outside. Reporting party is calling from Mill House Apartments. Party in a yard on Devens Street was happy to accommodate the request to turn down the music.
2:13 p.m. — Male party is at the station to turn himself over to police. Officer to serve an arrest warrant. Alan K. Jones, 40, of Portland, Maine, was arrested on a charge of fugitive from justice on a court warrant.
5:32 p.m. — Luis Angel Ruiz, 52, of Greenfield, was arrested at High and Sanderson streets on a warrant.
6:58 p.m. — Traffic stop near McDonald’s on Federal Street. Matthew James Garcia, 37, of Maple Street in Greenfield, was arrested on charges of unregistered motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Friday, Jan. 16
12:58 a.m. — Reporting party on Mill Street states it sounds like someone is trying to break into their apartment. Unsure of how many people. No signs of forced entry and the reporting party did not see anyone. It may have been the wind.
9:45 p.m. — Reporting party at Cumberland Farms on Federal Street reports a male party had an attitude over exchanging a soda, got irate and began threatening staff. Reporting party states the male walked out the door, unsure if he is still on the premises. Verbal argument, customer left prior to arrival. Staff will call if the male party returns.
10:38 p.m. — Report of an unwanted person at Baystate Franklin Medical Center on High Street. Officers sent. Male party reportedly being disruptive, yelling, screaming and banging on the windows. Male party refused to leave the hospital and became aggressive toward officers. Joshua Peter Sonntag, 45, of Plainfield, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, trespassing, and assault and battery on a police officer.
Saturday, Jan. 17
6:29 a.m. — Reporting party from Oak Courts states her neighbors have been fighting all night, yelling and banging on things, which is causing her belongings to fall off her wall. While on the phone, reporting party stated the female left in a gray van. Officer spoke with a male party, who denied anything physical happened. Female party left for work.
11:56 p.m. — Caller from Davis Street states his downstairs neighbor is causing a disturbance. One male, one female, both uncooperative, did not want to speak to officers and denied there was anything happening. Party closed the door on officers and locked it.
Sunday, Jan. 18
9:56 a.m. — Reporting party on Wells Street looking to speak to an officer about online fraud. Reporting party attempted to buy a car online using PayPal. The account on Facebook looked like it was a close friend’s account, but the friend’s account was hacked. Reporting party had transferred $800. He was advised to call his bank and PayPal.
1:15 p.m. — Report of a male party sleeping on the top floor of the Olive Street Parking Garage near the elevator. Could not locate.
6:09 p.m. — Report of three trucks honking their horns in the parking lot at the Cherry Rum Plaza on Bernardston Road. Teenagers hanging out. Teens were advised that they are on private property and to not cause a disturbance. They were cooperative and respectful.
