Stephanie A. Petrin

Greenfield, MA – Stephanie Ann (Kostanski) Petrin, 91, of Greenfield, MA, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, while in the comforting presence of her loving children.

Stephanie was born in Tewksbury, MA on June 27, 1934, the daughter of William Zigmund and Blanche Kostanski. She relocated to Greenfield shortly after her birth and resided there her entire life.

Stephanie was a devoted mother and home maker above all else. She enjoyed music, dancing, playing her ukelele, singing and was considered very artistic by family and friends. She enjoyed social gatherings and was known by all to be a friendly soul who would strike up a conversation with anyone. Her great sense of humor, kind, polite, and gentle nature, would always lead to an enjoyable discussion. She was loved by all.

Stephanie graduated from Greenfield High School in 1952. She remained friends with several of her classmates throughout her life. She always found delight in attending their monthly lunch outings, staying connected to one another, and enjoying each other’s company. She was also very fond of her caretakers, Marie Clark and Laurie Griffin whom she considered part of her family.

She was predeceased by her late husband, Arthur “Bud” Petrin in 1991.

Stephanie leaves behind her children, Paul Petrin (Lynne) of Greenfield, Tammy Provencal (Gary) of Bernardston, Michelle Newton (Carl “Joey”) of Milford, NH, Tina Burek (John) of Shelburne. Her Grandchildren, Kyle Provencal, Ann Duffy, Samantha Newton, Tyler McLaughlin, and Paul E. Petrin. She also leaves her 7 great grandchildren, whom she adored, Jacob, Allison, Maximus, Aria, Maci, Brayden and Sadie.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Friday 2/6 at 10am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 221 Federal Street, Greenfield. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Greenfield.

A calling hour will be held Friday morning from 8:30am-9:30am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield.
