In an independent matchup, The Greenfield hockey team defeated Hopedale, 4-2, at the Blackstone Valley IcePlex in Hopedale on Saturday.

Greenfield (8-5-1) brought a 3-1 lead into the third period against the Blue Raiders. Four different Green Wave players found the net in the win. Luca Siano, Wayde Bardwell, Jack Laurie and Brady Poreda all scored for Greenfield.

Shawn Baumann, Chase Zraunig and Shawn Beckwith had assists. Cooper Smith made 24 saves for the Green Wave.

Wrestling

Tri-County 63, Mahar 12 The Senators got individual wins from Daniel Briand and Josh Mazza, but lost at home on Saturday.

Briand pinned (1:16) Andrew Wainwright at 106 pounds while Mazza pinned (3:52) Ryan Bergman at 157 pounds.

Mahar 66, PVCICS 12 — The Senators took down the Dragons after four individual wins and a series of forfeits at home on Saturday.

Robert Whitehouse pinned (2:33) his opponent at 126 pounds. Nikolas Fregeau (138 pounds), Elias Roberts (144 pounds) and Eujeyn Smith (165) all won by fall for Mahar.

Westfield 48, Mohawk 18 Matthew Taraburca had the lone win for the Warriors in the loss to the Bombers in South Hadley on Saturday. Taraburca pinned (2:45) Ethan Houle at 157 pounds.

Mount Everett 33, Mohawk 24 Taraburca won again in the loss to Mount Everett. Taraburca pinned Ian Lanoue in 49 seconds. Rowen Lewis also won by fall (1:22) at 215 pounds for the Warriors.

Frontier 48, Duggan Academy 33; Frontier 55, Taconic 6; Frontier 57, Hampden Charter 6 — The Redhawks won three matches over the weekend in decisive fashion. Ainsley Southergill, Jocelyn Antes, Thomas Bagdon, Konnor James, Jacoby Merrill and Casey Bestler had all three victories for Frontier.

Bagdon pinned all three of his opponents.

Norton 39, Franklin Tech 36 — Paul Giard (113), Landon Purington (138), Wade Purington (150), Jared Currier (157) and Dillon Laffond (285) all won by fall, but the Eagles lost on the

Quincy 30, Franklin Tech 22 Max Brunette won a major decision (10-2) at 132 pounds, but the Eagles lost on the road. Landon Purington pinned his opponent in 39 seconds at 138 pounds. Carsten Couture also won by fall (1:02) at 144 pounds.

Turners Falls 111, Monson 47 The Thunder went on the road and beat the Mustangs in Constitution competition.

Tristan Bliss was among the first place (2:58.59) finishers in the 200 Individual Medley. Alice Fortin placed first (29.82) in the 50 free for the Thunder. Lillian Walker-Hanning (1:20.94) took first in the 100 breaststroke.

Turners Falls (8-1, 8-1 Constitution) swims against Easthampton on Wednesday for a chance at a share of the league title at the Wes Snapp Aquatic Center.

Boys swimming

Turners Falls 117, Monson 30 The Thunder (9-0, 9-0 Constitution) stayed perfect with a road win over the Mustangs.

Ryker Bray was among the first-place finishers (2:39.54) in the 200-free. In the 50 free, Tyler Galenski grabbed a first-place finish (27.48) for the Thunder.

William Tyler took first (2:48.03) in the 200 Individual Medley. Liam Bliss added two more first place finishes (55.61) in the 100 free (55.61) and the 100 breast (1:20.73) for Turners Falls.
