Christopher G. Maniatty

Amesbury, MA – Christopher G. Maniatty, 76, passed away on January 6, after a brief stay at Maplewood Rehab and Nursing Facility in Amesbury Mass.

Christopher lived a quiet life and spent most of his years in Greenfield.

He served in the United States Army for two and a half years, including one year stationed in Korea. Christopher was thoughtful though quite opinionated concerning issues that he felt compassionate about.

He took great interest in his Greek heritage and devoted time to studying his family history, becoming quite knowledgeable about his roots and extended family tree. As a younger man, Christopher was known for having a remarkable memory-often described as “like an elephant’s.”

His final employment was as manager of a storage facility in Greenfield, a role he held for ten years.

Christopher was predeceased by his parents, Gus and Christine Maniatty. He is survived by his brother, George Maniatty of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, his sister, Tanya Van Dyke of Valencia, California; five nephews, one niece, their families, and several cousins.

He will be remembered as a quiet solitary man who was caring, kind and generous in many ways, and who remained true to himself throughout his life.
