Northfield Mount Hermon swept both the girls and boys Mount Institute Ski League Races on Wednesday. It was a two-run giant slalom in brisk conditions at Berkshire East Mountain Resort.
The Northfield Mount Hermon girls team (A) finished first overall with 322 points ahead of Deerfield Academy (A) who had 322 points. Bement School took third (280). The Deerfield Academy (B) team was fourth overall (252). Northfield Mount Hermon (B) was fifth (204).
Ellie Pinkham of Northfield Mount Hermon (A) topped the individual standings with a combined time of 94.44.
Deerfield Academy’s Rowan Skinner placed second (95.88). Reese Schaefer of Bemont School took third overall (99.33). Wylie Benedetti was fourth for Northfield Mount Hermon (100.36). Lydie Pinkham of Northfield Mount Hermon rounded out the top five in fifth place (101.65)
On the boy side, Northfield Mount Hermon (A) was first with 338 points. Deerfield Academy (A) came in second (283) ahead of Eaglebrook in third place (259). Northfield Mount Hermon (B) placed fourth.
Northfield Mount Hermon had four out of the top five individual finishers. Coming in first overall (88.03) was Sam Rotermund. Teammate Sam Vassar was second (90.34.). Right behind him was Porter Beaule in third place (93.82).
Jackson Stram of Deerfield Academy was fourth (94.12). Sumner Finley of Northfield Mount Hermon rounded out the top five in fifth place (94.24).
Hockey
The 33rd annual David M. Petrin Alumni Hockey Game will be held Saturday, Feb. 7 at 4 p.m. at Collins-Moylan Arena in Greenfield. The game will feature Greenfield High School and Green Wave alumni.
After the game, the Greenfield hockey team hosts Minnechaug on Senior Night.
All GHS and Green Wave hockey alumni are welcome to play, with roster spots still available. Interested alumni should call Larry Petrin (413-687-2719) and leave their name, telephone number and year of graduation.

Girls basketball
Greenfield 18, Pioneer 13 — The Greenfield seventh and eighth grade girls Suburban team defeated the Panthers at home on Jan. 16. Hayden Sadler led the Green Wave with eight points. Hailey Sadler and Sophia Lapan both added four points. Mackenzie McIver had two points for the Green Wave.
Greenfield 29, Mahar 21 — Hayden Sadler scored 16 points for the Greenfield seventh and eighth grade Suburban team in a road win over the Senators on Tuesday. Ivy Bettancourt added six points. Leah Batiste scored five points and Hailey Sadler chipped in with two points.
Boys basketball
Four Rivers 61, White Oak 21 — The Otters were dominant in the victory at Stoneleigh-Burnham on Tuesday. Cooper Whitney scored 10 points and led the defensive effort with 10 steals.
Russell Herbert added eight points for the Otters.
