Wilfred Joseph Morin

Turners Falls , MA – Wilfred J. Morin, aged 93, of Turners Falls, MA, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, in the company of his loving wife of 53 years. Wilfred was born on June 27, 1932, and was the fifth of fifteen children born to Roseanna (Roy) and John Morin.

Wilfred, or Willy as he preferred to be called, was fond of saying, “It’s not whether you win or lose but how you play the game.” It was with a sense of quiet fierceness and dedication that Willy demonstrated his loyalty to his family, friends, work ethic, and service to his country. Willy enlisted in the military around the age of sixteen and provided twenty-plus years of service in both the U.S. Army and Air Force divisions. He served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars, for which he received a number of recognitions and awards, including the Bronze Star Medal in 1965 for his act of heroism while engaged in a rescue operation. In addition to his military service, Willy held multiple positions in maintenance and custodial services. He was an extremely hardworking and handy man who loved nature, animals, classical music, and chopping wood. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix with the right amount of duct tape.

Willy was preceded in death by his children, Kevin and Lynn Morin, along with eight of his siblings. Those left to cherish his memory include: his wife Lillian; daughter Suzanne and her husband Jeff Kelsey of Long Island, NY; son Jeff Morin and his wife Susan of Windsor, CT; son Joey Morin; and grandchildren Abigail and William Morin, and Kaitlyn and Jordan Kelsey.
