The Greenfield girls fifth and sixth grade Suburban team eased past Amherst, 46-28, on Saturday morning. The Green Wave had three players in double-figures in the win at Nichols gymnasium.

Penelope Gioules led the way with 13 points for Greenfield. Savannah Thomas and Hayden Sadler each added 10 points for the Green Wave.

Easthampton 19, Frontier 13 โ€” The fifth and sixth girls Suburban squad couldnโ€™t find the offense in a road loss to the Eagles on Saturday.

Frontier 36, Northampton 6 โ€” The defense of the fifth and sixth girls grade Suburban team overwhelmed the Blue Devils in a win at Goodnow Gymnasium on Sunday.

Frontier had a 18-2 lead at the end of the first quarter. Grace Barshefsky, Norah Kells, Heidi Benson and Grace Puchalski led a balanced scoring attack with six points each for the Redhawks (4-1).

Knights of Columbus Hoop Shoot

The annual Greenfield Knights of Columbus Hoop Shoot will be held on Saturday (Jan. 17) at Franklin Countyโ€™s YMCA in Greenfield.ย 

The event is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. The hoop shoot is open to all boys and girls ages 9-14 who live in Franklin County.ย For more information, contact Lou Grader (413-774-2848.

Here are the scores for the week ending on Jan. 9. In Sunday Scotch Doubles, Scott Schneider and Kendall Schneider rolled a 118 in high single and a 321 in high triple.

In Monday Mixed League action, Eva Goldman scored a 91 in high single while Marilyn Wilson rolled a 258 in high triple. Chris LaFreniere scored a 135 in high single and a 365 in high triple.

On Tuesday, Kelly Gorman scored a 93 in high single. Tera Tippett carded a 248 in high triple. Anthony Gutierrez scored a 107 in high single. Gutierrez and Paul Cohen tied at 286 in high triple.

On Wednesday, Cherie Semanie rolled a 105 in high single and a 288 in high triple. Erich Price carded a 107 in high single while Lew Goodnow rolled a 298 in high triple. On Thursday, Rachel Dodge carded a 94 in high single and a 244 in high triple. Matt Gilbert rolled a 125 in high single and a 345 in high triple.
