Art program to teach gel printing techniques
TURNERS FALLS — Visitors to the Great Falls Discovery Center at 2 Avenue A will learn how to create their own gel print of snowflakes using paper snowflakes and gel printing techniques during a free art program on Saturday, Jan. 3, from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
This arts program is open to adults, teens, and children ages 6 and up, accompanied by an adult. Materials will be provided.
Documentary screenings planned each Sunday at Discovery Center
TURNERS FALLS — To start the series of Sunday afternoon documentary screenings from Sandbox Films, the film “Fireball” by Werner Herzog will be shown on Sunday, Jan. 4, from 2 to 3:45 p.m. at the Great Falls Discovery Center, 2 Avenue A.
The screening is free and open to adults and teens ages 14 and older. Hot chocolate will be served. There is a snow date of Jan. 17.
Toenail clipping available at Senior & Community Center
ERVING — Starting Jan. 6, Melinda Powling of Nailz 2 Envy will visit the Erving Senior & Community Center, 1 Care Drive, on the first Tuesday of each month from 8:15 to 9:35 a.m. for a toenail clipping clinic.
The clinic costs $10 for each participant.
Online safety series coming to Erving Public Library
ERVING — Families are invited to the Erving Public Library, 2 Care Drive, to learn about social media and technology safety on Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 5 p.m. as part of a four-part series titled “Keeping All Kids Safe.”
These free workshops are planned in collaboration with Erving Elementary School to help educate adults on children’s use of technology and provide applicable strategies and tools to help families support healthy online habits. The next two workshops are scheduled for March 3 and May 5 at 5 p.m.
