10:41 a.m. — Water Department employee reports finding a used hypodermic needle on Swamp Road. Services rendered.
12:39 p.m. — Employee at 253 Farmacy on Millers Falls Road has a counterfeit bill that was used yesterday, along with images of the person it came from. Investigated.
1:52 p.m. — Caller on Walnut Street reports seeing someone dressed in all black walk to his porch. Caller believes the person may have taken something from his mailbox. Male party seen matching the description found walking on Montague City Road. Male party was giving out business cards in the area.
Wednesday, Nov. 19
1:15 p.m. — Walk-in to the station reports seeing a mangy fox on Emond Avenue near Turnpike Road. Reporting party is worried about children walking home from school. Report taken.
4:25 p.m. — Injured rabbit found on South Prospect Street. Animal control officer responded and retrieved the rabbit.

6:08 a.m. — Report of a loose horse in the road at Greenfield and Hatchery roads. Horse returned home.
Friday, Nov. 21
2:25 p.m. — Officer was flagged down in the area of Montague Town Hall on Avenue A regarding a hit and run. Officer heading to K Street to speak to the other driver. Report taken.
Saturday, Nov. 22
8:22 a.m. — Alarm sounding at Greenfield Savings Bank on Avenue A. Rear entry and teller door alarm. Response canceled, employee on scene.
1:13 p.m. — Report of a loose dog in the area of L and Spring streets. Described as a gray-faced dog with an orange scarf. Unable to locate.
9:47 p.m. — Caller states there are four kids hanging around the Turners Falls-Gill Bridge and one was leaning over the railing. Unable to locate.
Sunday, Nov. 23
1:34 p.m. — Walk-in to the station states that a cashier at Food City, along with two other employees, accused her of stealing a plastic shopping bag that had medication in it. She admits to taking the shopping bag; however, it was empty. Reporting party will bring the bag in.
Monday, Nov. 24
6:34 a.m. — Caller on L Street reports his vehicle was keyed overnight. Wanted the incident document. Services rendered.
9:09 a.m. — Walk-in to the station from Swamp Road states he hired someone to fix some lawn equipment for him, but after the machinery was picked up, he never heard from the man again. Investigated.
1:44 p.m. — Caller reports that on Friday, at Fifth Street and Avenue A, someone broke into her car and took her cellphone, her husband’s cellphone and both their wallets. Caller was advised to contact their banks and credit card companies.
Tuesday, Nov. 25
8:53 a.m. — Detail officer on Federal Street advises someone backed into a utility pole, causing damage. Vehicle no longer on scene. Eversource advised. Pole may have had pre-existing damage. Involved driver to contact police. Driver called stating he is back on scene.
Wednesday, Nov. 26
9:53 a.m. — Reporting party believes his vehicle was hit at Our Lady of Peace Church on Seventh Street. Report taken.
Friday, Nov. 28
4:57 a.m. — Caller states she was walking her dog by Greenfield Savings Bank on Avenue A when she was approached by a male party who was making a lot of noise. As she was walking back home, the male party was still by the bank, smoking cigarettes and tapping on the glass. Officers advised. Unable to locate.
Saturday, Nov. 29
3:15 p.m. — Caller near the intersection of Routes 47 and 63 reports a blue Toyota Camry is swerving from lane to lane and there are kids in the back seat. Officers located the vehicle and followed it for a while but did not observe any infractions.
Sunday, Nov. 30
11:07 a.m. — Alarm company reports a security alarm sounding from the rec room door at Turners Falls High School on Turnpike Road. Building secured, no signs of forced entry.
1:36 p.m. — Driver got stuck on a structure at the end of a driveway on Swamp Road and now one or two wheels are off the ground. She fears the car will tip over. Byrne Towing was requested to pull the vehicle out. Car had a leak from a hose.
Monday, Dec. 1
2:45 p.m. — Two-vehicle crash in front of the Montague Public Safety Complex at Turnpike and Turners Falls roads. No reported injuries. No fluids or smoke. Tows requested for both vehicles. One driver was issued a warning for failure to stop.
Tuesday, Dec. 2
11:13 a.m. — Caller reports a silver pickup truck hit a tree near 21 Montague St., then backed up and left the scene. Tree found to be uprooted. Not a safety hazard.
11:43 a.m. — Caller reports she hit a small tree on Montague Street, then left the scene and went home. Reporting party drives a silver Chevrolet Colorado. Report taken.
11:55 a.m. — Reporting party on East Main Street states a group of people are screaming at each other on a balcony. Officer advised. Verbal argument about shoveling snow. All parties separated.
12:38 p.m. — Caller reports a vehicle struck a fire hydrant on Unity Street. Water Department advised. Top portion of the fire hydrant is on its side. No visible leaks. A be-on-the-lookout order was issued for a tan or brown pickup truck, possibly a Chevrolet or Ford, possibly a 2000s model. Vehicle may have front-end damage.
Wednesday, Dec. 3
11:35 a.m. — Caller calling about a 20-foot tree that was knocked over on Montague Street the day before. Reporting party will be contacting the Department of Public Works to find out if it’s a town-owned tree or if it’s his tree.
Thursday, Dec. 4
11:28 a.m. — Fire chief advises a Casella garbage truck took down some wires on L Street and the driver isn’t aware. Truck is reportedly dragging the wires behind it. Truck was located on K Street, but with no wires on it. One low-hanging wire was found in an alley but is not a hazard. Nothing found in the road.
4:13 p.m. — Reporting party on East Mineral Road states there is a car parked on his property. Caller believes it belongs to hunters. Caller states the property is posted and this is a problem every year. Reporting party would like the hunters to be aware that it is posted, that he has cameras up and that they must stop taking down the posted signs.
Friday, Dec. 5
7:24 p.m. — Caller at Turners Falls High School on Turnpike Road states there is someone on a snowmobile riding through the fields. Referred to an officer.
Saturday, Dec. 6
9 p.m. — Vehicle not stopping for police at Chester Street and Millers Falls Road. Richard Armand Phaneuf II, 47, of North Main Street in New Salem, was arrested on charges of driving at a rate of speed exceeding the posted limit, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration, uninsured motor vehicle and failure to stop for police. Bail set at $200. Bail paid at 11:58 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 7
2:30 a.m. — Officer is out with a vehicle idling in the Walgreens parking lot on Avenue A. Individual is homeless and was sleeping in their vehicle.
