GREENFIELD — All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church will hold a “Quilting the World” sale Saturday, Dec. 6 to raise money for the Salvation Army and Stone Soup Cafe.

The church, located at 399 Main Street will host a sale of more than 60 quilts crafted by Jody Stetson, a former registered nurse at Baystate Franklin Medical Center who has been quilting since 1970.

“I place scripture in each quilt because I believe people need to know God and His word will accomplish that for which He sent it,” Stetson wrote in a statement to the Recorder. “Quilting is my hobby. I give away all the money I get for my quilts. That way the time I spend quilting is useful in some way, instead of being a waste of time.”

The quilt sale will be held from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday during the city’s Jinglefest celebration. All proceeds will go either Stone Soup Cafe, or The Salvation Army, at the choice of the buyer.
