Church to host Christmas tree lighting
NEW SALEM — The Central Congregational Church of New Salem will hold its annual memorial Christmas tree lighting and carol sing at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
Hot chocolate and light refreshments will be provided at the church after the tree lighting.
To purchase a light to honor or remember someone, send a check to the Central Congregational Church of New Salem at 22 South Main St. Bulbs are $5 each, and the list of donations and who they represent will be printed in the church program. Money can also be brought to the tree lighting.
Money raised from the memorial Christmas tree lighting goes to the capital fund to pay for church expenses. For more information, email bojan45h@gmail.com.
New Salem library to host dry felting workshop
NEW SALEM — The New Salem Public Library will host “Crafternoons: Dry Felting Workshop” from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6.
Presented by the LaunchSpace Mobile Makerspace Program out of Orange, this hands-on workshop will discuss the unique properties of wool fiber and how felting works based on those properties. Using felt needles, foam blocks and wool, participants will create a felted bird.

Orange Town Hall to have adjusted hours during holidays
ORANGE — Town Hall will have adjusted hours during the holiday season.
