3:51 p.m. — Motorcycle crash reported at the intersection of Routes 47 and 63 with possible injuries. Oil spill in the road is believed to have caused the crash and will need to be addressed. Massachusetts Department of Transportation sending a crew.
4:12 p.m. — Caller on Dewolf Road reports his neighbor blew leaves into his yard and he would like an officer to confront her about it. Reporting party left prior to police arrival. Spoke to a roommate who was unaware of any issue.
Tuesday, Oct. 7
10:47 a.m. — Report of a tree on wires at Court Square. Hazard removed by Eversource.
1:42 p.m. — Reporting party on Wonsey Road states a young male in a white Mercedes SUV with New Hampshire plates knocked on her door and was asking if she wanted her driveway paved at a discount because his company was doing work in the area and had extra material. Unable to locate.
Wednesday, Oct. 8
11:03 a.m. — Report of fraud. Walk-in to the station reports someone in Colorado is filling her prescriptions. Officer advised.
Thursday, Oct. 9
8:44 a.m. — Reporting party at the JaDuke Center for the Performing Arts on Industrial Boulevard states there is a white van with Illinois plates parked there that she feels is suspicious. Officer advised. Gone on arrival.
9:56 p.m. — Walk-in to the station from Federal Street reports her computer was hacked and the person involved got into her bank account and also got a gift card from Amazon. Reporting party would like to speak to an officer and file a police report.
Friday, Oct. 10
9:27 a.m. — Report of low-hanging wires at Fourth and J streets. Comcast wires, approximately 9 feet above ground. Comcast expected to arrive in an hour or less.
1:19 p.m. — Wires reportedly ripped down by a truck on Fourth Street. Verizon lines. Caution tape put up until Verizon can respond.
Saturday, Oct. 11
12:09 a.m. — Caller on Federal Street states he is out working in his garage and a vehicle has driven by slowly multiple times. Officer advises he checked the area at length and found no vehicles in the area.
Sunday, Oct. 12
1:25 p.m. — Caller at Highland School Apartments on Millers Falls Road states a car horn has been sounding for about five minutes and he can also hear someone arguing/yelling. Caller believes someone may be in distress. Officer made contact with the vehicle’s owner, observed no yelling or screaming upon arrival.
5:42 p.m. — Owner of Turners Falls Pizza House on Avenue A advising his employee called him to say that a male party has been sleeping on the floor for the past 40 minutes. Officer requesting Turners Falls Fire Department for an evaluation. Signed patient refusal. Officer walking with male party up K Street onto Fifth Street. Male party back home with a friend.
Monday, Oct. 13
12:23 a.m. — Caller reports he could hear people yelling while walking his dog on K Street. Officer requesting an ambulance for a female party with self-inflicted wounds to her upper legs. Officer heading to the hospital to speak with the female party further.
2:49 p.m. — Caller on Vladish Avenue near Millers Falls Road states he saw a fox while driving in the area. Caller requested patrols keep an eye out as foxes are primarily nocturnal so seeing one out in the daytime could mean it is sick. Referred to an officer.
Tuesday, Oct. 14
2:49 p.m. — Two-vehicle collision on Third Street. No injuries, no fluids leaking. Tow requested for a Subaru Impreza.
Wednesday, Oct. 15
4:44 p.m. — Teacher at Sheffield Elementary School on Crocker Avenue states she was assaulted earlier in the day and the principal advised her to file a report. Officer to follow-up and take the report.
5:08 p.m. — Welfare check requested on a male party yelling by Unnameable Books on Avenue A. Unable to locate.
Thursday, Oct. 16
12:03 p.m. — Report of a sick fox wandering around the Highway Garage on Turners Falls Road. Animal control officer responding. Unable to locate.
Friday, Oct. 17
1:17 p.m. — Walk-in to the station reporting larceny. Reporting party states he gave a $400 cash advance to a male party for work to be done around the house and three months later, the male party still has not shown up. Reporting party was advised of options.
Saturday, Oct. 18
11:42 a.m. — Walk-in to the station from High Street reports someone altered and forged a check he had mailed to pay his Comcast bill. Original check was for $362.02 and someone reportedly altered it to $862.02. Officer advised.
Sunday, Oct. 19
4:52 a.m. — Report of a large mother bear and three cubs in the area of Coolidge Avenue roughly an hour earlier.
7:06 p.m. — Walk-in to the station reports seeing a fox cross Turnpike Road that looked sick. Officers advised.
Monday, Oct. 20
7:15 a.m. — Two-vehicle crash reported at Third Street and Avenue A. No injuries, no smoke or fluids. Rau’s Sunoco Service assisting with a tire, no need for a tow.
9:36 a.m. — Jeremiah James Crossman, 35, of Broadway in Lake Pleasant, was arrested on a charge of possession of a Class A drug (subsequent offense).
Tuesday, Oct. 21
8:06 a.m. — Rau’s Sunoco Service reports getting a call for a flat tire on Main Street and it appears the driver was involved in a crash. Car is off the road. Driver is walking toward town with a dog. Rau’s towed the vehicle. Believes the driver hit a guardrail. Officer located the male party near the cemetery. Male party states he was a passenger and was not driving. States his mother was driving. Male party has a suspended license. Officer then spoke with the mother, who states she was not driving. Summons issued.
4:53 p.m. — Mangy fox reported in the area of Bulkley Street.
Wednesday, Oct. 22
1:46 p.m. — Caller on Power Street was cleaning up litter and found a bin that was duct-taped closed. Inside there is another bin encased in concrete. It appears the bin washed up from the river. Report taken.
4:15 p.m. — Reporting party states there is a fox in the area of the soccer field at Turners Falls High School that looks sick. Caller is concerned about the children in the area. Animal control officer advised. Unable to locate.
4:47 p.m. — Dalton John Stevens, 34, of East Main Street in Millers Falls, was arrested on a warrant on East Main Street.
Thursday, Oct. 23
9:10 a.m. — Officer out providing assistance as the red light is changed at Avenue A and Seventh Street.
Friday, Oct. 24
2:38 p.m. — Walk-in to the station reporting fraud and identity theft. Female party to return with more documentation.
Saturday, Oct. 25
3:05 p.m. — Caller on Henry Avenue states the neighbors are having a get-together and she believes there are too many vehicles parked on the roadway. Officer spoke with homeowners, who agreed to move some vehicles to different locations.
4:32 p.m. — Report of a fox hit by a car in the area of Turnpike and Millers Falls roads. Fox ran into the woods.
7:51 p.m. — Sound of fireworks and loud banging reported on Goddard Avenue. Officer advised. Unable to locate.
Sunday, Oct. 26
7:41 a.m. — Reporting party on Goddard Avenue, following up from the night before, states they found damage to the outside of their house this morning. Damage to the south-facing side of the residence. Officer observed three to four areas with damage to the vinyl siding. Damage appears to be consistent with a pellet or BB gun projectile. First-floor window and second-floor window also damaged. Documented with photos.
