Greenfield, MA – Joyce V. Hepburn passed away on Friday November 7, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield. She was born on March 22, 1932 in Conway to the late William Vincent and Grace W. Vincent.
She was married to the late Charles C. Hepburn, and is survived by her children, Lynda Benz (Dennis), Larry (Paula), Steven, Loralyn Boyd (the late Walter) and Philip; and five grandchildren, Jason (Crystal), Jeremy, Jessica Reid (Brian), Michael Hamilton (Tasha) and Joshua Boyd (Mariah); twelve great grandchildren and eleven great great grandchildren.
Joyce spent her younger years in Conway, her entire married life in Sunderland and her later years in Greenfield. Her working career began in nursing homes, progressed to the Student Union at UMass, its annex and store, the Amherst Savings Bank as a Customer Service Representative. For a time, she had a shop set up in her home where she made leather coats, jackets and leather accessories. She finished out her working years as chef of the Sunderland Grammar School.
Joyce was active as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, spending her later years writing letters to people in the community. A Memorial in her honor will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 290 Shelburne Road, Greenfield on December 13, 2025 at 1:00. A private burial will be held at the North Sunderland cemetery.
Donations may be made to the local AMR ambulance service, who on numerous occasions provided her services. We, her family, want to express our gratefulness for the care and dignity she received by Hospice and the nursing staff of the Baystate Medical Centers.
