Monday, Sept. 22
11:38 a.m. — Reporting party reports his electric bike was stolen from his porch on Pleasant Street sometime between 3 p.m. the day before and 10 a.m. this morning. Bike was locked, chain was cut.
1:13 p.m. — Report of a vehicle operating erratically at Stop & Shop on the French King Highway. Reporting party reports a possibly impaired driver is driving erratically through the parking lot, making multiple attempts to park, and yelling at the reporting party who was pushing a carriage through the lot. Gone on arrival.
5:22 p.m. — Vehicle fire reported near Nam’s taekwondo studio on Main Street. Fire Department notified. Officer dispatched. Smoke coming from the car after starting it, in the back parking lot. Fire put out prior to arrival using a fire extinguisher. Driver made arrangements for Koch’s Automotive to tow the vehicle.
Tuesday, Sept. 23
1:10 a.m. — Caller from Mill Street states there is a vehicle that has driven up and down the street at least three times in the last 30 minutes that has no muffler and is very loud. Checked the area, all clear. Gone on arrival.
7:19 a.m. — Report of breaking and entering into a vehicle on Beech Street. Officer met with the caller, who reported sometime between last night at 7:30 p.m. and this morning someone entered his unlocked vehicle. Some property was removed and thrown in yards down the street. One item missing is a firefighter training book (new in plastic). Report issued.
10:56 a.m. — Tents set up in the woods alongside the skate park on Chapman Street. Reporting party states people no longer want to attend the meetings at local businesses in the surrounding area. A lot of trash and a lot of yelling. Parties were identified and advised to vacate the area. No trash seen.
2:02 p.m. — Reporting party on Hayes Avenue states someone threw tomatoes into his yard. He believes it was a neighbor as there are tomatoes on the neighbor’s porch. Ongoing neighbor dispute. Services rendered.
5:01 p.m. — Reporting party states that while driving in the area of Mountain Road, a black Hyundai passed him and there was a juvenile hanging out the window screaming for help. Stated it was heading up the mountain toward Poet’s Seat Tower. Area checked, unable to locate.
Wednesday, Sept. 24
12:47 a.m. — Caller from School Street reports a suspicious car has come and gone three times in the last 30 minutes. Reporting party states “this red car comes here and visits friends and I believe they are up to not good.” Officers checked the area, all OK.
5:11 p.m. — Jordan Emilio Bernardes, 35, of Ludlow, was arrested on Pray Drive on a charge of assault and battery on a family/household member.
10:35 p.m. — Reporting party from Forest Avenue states her son heard the garage door open about 15 minutes ago and now multiple items are missing. A weed whacker is missing from the garage and a debit card is missing from the vehicle. Report issued.
Thursday, Sept. 25
7:31 a.m. — Threat reported at Catalpa Coffee on Bank Row. Reporting party states a male party has been coming into the store and making odd and threatening statements toward her and the customers. Last seen walking toward Greenfield Savings Bank. Spoke with party who claimed Catalpa Coffee was trying to take his money. He denied needing any services. Reporting party received information on how to obtain a no-trespassing order.
8:54 a.m. — Caller reporting her daughter has a warrant and is now leaving the residence with a male party, heading toward the bus stop near Heather Court. Alison Nichole Lively, 42, of Heather Court in Greenfield, was arrested on a warrant.
12:04 p.m. — Report of vandalism at the Mohawk Mall on Main Street. Reporting party states a new handrail that was just installed has been damaged. He was not interested in a police report but requested police continue patrols in the area, particularly on the southeast corner of the building. A new light and a security camera will be installed soon.
Friday, Sept. 26
12:40 p.m. — Threat reported at Harper’s Store on Colrain Road. Reporting party reports they let an employee go last week and since then, the ex-employee has been “blowing up” their phone and today threatened to burn the store down. Advised of options.
6:45 p.m. — Reporting party states a piece of the World War I memorial at Veterans Mall on Main Street has fallen off, is afraid someone will take it. Metal piece recovered.
8:58 p.m. — Justin Sheperd, 37, of High Street in Greenfield, was arrested on Federal Street on a warrant.
11:08 p.m. — Reporting party on Prospect Avenue states she believes someone got inside her house. Caller arrived home to find their air conditioner on the ground outside, believes someone removed it to break into the house. No items reported stolen. No video surveillance.
Saturday, Sept. 27
10:33 a.m. — Report of vandalism at City Hall on Court Square. Caller reports damage to the men’s bathroom. Shoes left behind, along with drug paraphernalia in the women’s bathroom. Vandalism occurred to both the men’s and women’s bathrooms. It is unknown when this happened. Report issued.
12:36 p.m. — Hailey Dixon, 32, homeless of Greenfield, and Bradley Edward Trombley, 50, also homeless of Greenfield, were both arrested at Arch and Chapman streets on warrants.
1:21 p.m. — Report of a city ordinance violation at Main and Miles streets. Caller reports people are smoking weed and drinking alcohol. Encountered all present parties, who are grilling and eating. No odor of marijuana, no alcoholic beverages observed. All parties were advised of the report and were reminded of the law. Cooler was opened voluntarily to confirm there was no alcohol, no alcohol was observed.
1:32 p.m. — Report of a city ordinance violation on Main Street. Observed two parties with open containers of alcohol. Confiscated, dumped out and given a verbal warning.
7:40 p.m. — Noise complaint on Devens Street. Reporting party states a diesel truck peeled out very loudly heading toward Conway Street. Observed a 10- to 15-foot trail of burnt rubber on Devens Street. White Dodge Ram located on Phillips Street. Tires were still hot and burnt rubber was still sticky on the bedsides. Spoke to the truck’s owner who initially denied it, but after evidence was provided, admitted to burning rubber on Devens Street. Owner was told that the next time he will be charged with vandalism to city property.
Sunday, Sept. 28
5:13 a.m. — Reporting party from Armory Street states her daughter is ripping things off the wall and causing a disturbance that woke her up. Daughter was gone prior to officer’s arrival. Reporting party was advised of options.
8:32 p.m. — Reporting party from Chapman Street states flashlights are shining through her bedroom window and the kitchen window. Investigated.
Monday, Sept. 29
10:20 a.m. — Report of an unwanted person at Catalpa Coffee on Bank Row who comes in every morning shouting at staff and stating someone is going to come punch them. No-trespassing order served.
10:32 a.m. — Officer investigating individuals living in tents near the skate park on Chapman Street. Officer left business cards with a note advising any campers to leave the area. Final warning.
1:34 p.m. — Caller reports a paving company is going door to door in the area of Arch and Chapman streets. Last seen in the area driving an orange truck with New Hampshire plates. Believed to be non-permitted, possible scam.
4:52 p.m. — Officer was flagged down by a female party who said there were a group of “young men” who made her experience at a soccer game at Beacon Field terrible because they were yelling at her. The female said she was leaving to prevent further interaction. Services rendered.
5:20 p.m. — Reporting party on Elm Street and his sister report theft of money in the amount of more than $10,000. Believed to have been taken on Saturday. Report taken.
7:05 p.m. — Reporting party states there is a large pothole in front of Harper’s Store on Colrain Road. Officer states there is a small dirt section where the Department of Public Works must be doing work. All set.
Tuesday, Sept. 30
10:57 a.m. — Report of a group of seven or eight people yelling about drugs in the parking lot on Chapman Street. Group of individuals in the southwest corner of the lot hanging out in chairs, no disturbance noted, however, they were asked to clean up the trash.
11:43 a.m. — Omar Enrique Maldonado, 27, of Springfield, was arrested on Miles Street on a warrant.
2:39 p.m. — Reporting party from Bouker Street reports he is on a dead end and there is a tent site that has popped up at the end near his house and people have been coming and going. Sleeping bag, blanket and umbrella found. No tent. Left a note advising they are trespassing and need to move per the Police Department.
5:20 p.m. — Kelly Jean Miller, 48, of Ferrante Avenue in Greenfield, was arrested on Ferrante Avenue on a warrant.
5:44 p.m. — Reporting party on Davis Street reports he has a flat tire on his truck he believes was caused by the ongoing construction. Party believes the road should be closed. Angry he is now out $300-plus for a new tire. Services rendered.
6:21 p.m. — Ashley Hilda Blanchard, 32, of Mountain Road in Gill, was arrested on Main Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, a motor vehicle lights violation and license not in possession.
Wednesday, Oct. 1
11:28 a.m. — Shoplifting reported at Big Y on the Mohawk Trail. Male party took off on an electric scooter down Colrain Road. Eric J. Powell Jr., 39, of East Buckland Road in Buckland, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting by asportation (third offense).
8:00 p.m. — Reporting party from Maple Street reports two of her chickens may have wandered off from their coop. Both white in color. Services rendered.
10:24 p.m. — Reporting party reports a male party is walking around in the parking lot of Greenfield Acres on Congress Street that he does not recognize. John Mudge, 46, of Congress Street in Greenfield, was arrested on a warrant.
