Conservation restriction approved on 60 acres in Gill
GILL — The Selectboard has approved a conservation restriction on 60 acres of land owned by the Stotz family, which is part of a total 89 acres the family is preserving between Gill and Greenfield, with assistance from the Franklin Land Trust.
“Franklin Land Trust will hold this in perpetuity and work to enforce any issues that come up over time,” Liam Cregan, a land conservation specialist with the Franklin Land Trust, told the Selectboard on Oct. 20. “The Stotz family plans to keep it in their ownership for the time being, but if they convey it away at any time, that protection will still remain on the land.”
According to the conservation restriction, the Fall River bisects the Stotz property, and the family owns land on both sides of the river. These properties are located along Factory Hollow Road in Greenfield and West Gill Road in Gill.
