A rickety “peace” is in place in Gaza, faltering even as we speak. I have a suggestion that would change minds, hearts and actions in Israel/Palestine. Gazans need unimaginable efforts to dig out the horrible rubble of their homes. Israelis are distressed and insistent that their deceased hostages have not come home for closure and burial. The obvious solution is for Jews, Israelis and Palestinians to work together to dig through the rubble and find their beloveds together. A natural grief over the shared losses and the shared hopes might emerge, if we can find compassion for the losses of the other.
