Monday, Aug. 11
2:29 a.m. — Officer reports a pursuit. Vehicle had fled from Massachusetts State Police in Erving. Officer spotted the vehicle turning onto the French King Highway. Vehicle failed to stop and pursuit was terminated due to speed. Vehicle was found at Highland Park abandoned. Driver was located at his residence and placed under arrest. Roscoe Clark Spencer-Dubuc, 20, of Grinnell Street in Greenfield, was arrested on charges of failure to stop for police, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, driving at a rate of speed greater than what was reasonable and proper, a motor vehicle lights violation, a marked lanes violation and improper operation of a motor vehicle.
6:59 a.m. — Reporting party reports two people are fighting in a light gray SUV in the parking lot of The Weldon apartments. Second caller reports a male and female are arguing in a vehicle at the entrance to The Weldon. Shannon M. Jaworski, 37, of High Street in Greenfield, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
11:48 a.m. — Reporting party states a male party is sitting in a chair in the road on Meridian Street. The male party was given a courtesy ride home.
1:31 p.m. — Reporting party wants to know if he can cut hair for free on the Greenfield Common or at Energy Park. Party was advised he did not need a permit to do so.
4:55 p.m. — John Edmund Cahill, 44, homeless of Greenfield, was arrested on two warrants at the Registry of Motor Vehicles on Miner Street.
Tuesday, Aug. 12
6:28 a.m. — Report of suspicious activity on Congress Street. Female party has a shovel in her hands. Reporting party believes she is breaking into a home. Shannon M. Jaworski, 37, of High Street in Greenfield, was arrested on a charge of vandalizing property.
8:24 a.m. — Injured owl located on the front lawn of a home on Sanderson Street. Animal control officer advising it is an injured hawk that has been brought to Tom Ricardi.
9:47 p.m. — Emily Ann Dickinson, 41, homeless of Greenfield, was arrested on Federal Street on a warrant.
10:43 p.m. — Micah Varela, 38, of Springfield, was arrested near the intersection of Crescent Street and Highland Avenue on charges of a marked lanes violation, a motor vehicle lights violation, possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug (subsequent offense), possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug (subsequent offense), carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possessing a firearm in a felony, a firearms violations with three prior violent/drug crimes and carrying a firearm without a license (third offense).
Wednesday, Aug. 13
5:33 a.m. — Reporting party states there is a power wheelchair in the middle of Walnut Street with nobody in it. Battery died, officer moved it out of the roadway. No tags or ID on the wheelchair.
12:08 p.m. — Reporting party at Arch Place states he was taking a nap in his vehicle and someone reached in and stole his Motorola cellphone sometime between 10 and 10:50 a.m.
Thursday, Aug. 14
10:49 a.m. — Zachary David Coager, 32, of Wells Street in Greenfield, was arrested on Bank Row on a warrant.
8:15 p.m. — Security from Kennametal found a male party laying in the road on North Street. Male party was moved to the sidewalk.
Friday, Aug. 15
9:43 a.m. — Report of speeding vehicles on Lampblack Road. Caller would also like to speak with an officer regarding the number of crashes that occur in the area and is requesting speeding enforcement, stating vehicles are traveling upwards of 60 mph.
5:22 p.m. — Traffic stop near the Interstate 91 rotary. Vehicle was in the right-turn lane coming off the rotary and swerved left, almost striking a police cruiser that had to move to avoid a collision. Vehicle then entered rotary traffic without yielding. Citation will be mailed to the driver.
8:16 p.m. — Caller states a male party is standing up on a rock at Sanderson and High streets and is believed to be exposing himself. Male party is wearing a yellow reflective vest and is heading north on High Street. Checked area, unable to locate.
Saturday, Aug. 16
7:27 a.m. — Walk-in to the station wants to report damage done to a fence the abuts his neighbor’s property. Party states he believes the damage was done by a bear and he doesn’t want his neighbor to blame him. Party has photos of the fence on Holland Avenue and the birdseed in the dirt next to the damaged fence.
11:14 a.m. — Officer out with a female party at High and Hastings streets. Female party was stumbling around looking lost/confused and her dog kept pulling her into the road. Spoke with the female who dropped her glasses and couldn’t seem to find them. Glasses were found. No medical/impairment concern.
11:25 a.m. — Party is upset over the people who hang out on Main Street. Wants the police to make them leave the area, especially because they sit in front of Green Fields Market where there are “No loitering” signs posted in the window. Party was advised that police can’t make people move off a public way just because he doesn’t like them there.
11:40 p.m. — Officer stopping a vehicle near Poet’s Seat Tower on Mountain Road. Brady P. McCloud, 25, of Park Avenue in Greenfield, was arrested on charges of OUI-liquor .08%, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation.
Sunday, Aug. 17
8:21 a.m. — Caller reporting a male party was laying on the corner of Grove and Beech streets for about 30 minutes, then the person got up and was stumbling around. Last seen headed toward Main Street. Officer saw two people matching the description, all OK.
1:51 p.m. — Caller reports that while grocery shopping, somebody put a severed finger in the back of his pickup truck. Checked, finger is fake.
